cheap and easy diets that work

cheap and easy diets that work

what's up beautiful people? it is your homegirl shameless. and i havethe brothers green. - hey guys.- what's going on? mike and josh.

cheap and easy diets that work, and i met them at theunicef event, at the un. and we were talking about food. i found out you guyshave a cooking channel. we talk about foodthere. [crosstalk]

check it out, check it out. - a lot. - yeah. so, i asked them, i'mlike let's do a video, and let's do itfor college students. and then you suggestedfour ingredients for each meal. yeah, you knowcollege students these days they're so busy, you've school work, you've got otherthings to do rather than -- yeah so, you've onlygot four ingredients,

and it's quickand it's delicious. yeah, we simplify it. we have abreakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it's all vegetarianwhich is great for -- and it can be made vegan, too. you could. and can be madenon-vegetarian, too -- [crosstalk] for all the meat eatersyou can throw it in there.

but we're going tostart off with breakfast, which is going tobe an egg sandwich, in a pepper ring moldwith a special treat, a vegetarian bacon. what do we got next joshua? this is a flatbread pizza, andit's basically really simple, because all you'redoing is taking flatbreads and you'remaking pizzas in a pan, you don't even need an oven.

such a great recipe.and then we're going to finish it off with afour ingredient stir-fry with tofu, broccoli -- - this is throwing me off.- it is throwing you off. just wait, trust us here. it'sdelicious. i've tried it once. once? tried it once! - it worked once, yeah.- it'll work again. i'll try and think twice. we'll get started withthe breakfast sandwich.

all you need to do to make baconcheese is just some cheese. take a non-stick pan, and you sprinkle alittle bit of mozzarella, or some goodmelting cheese, cheddar works, mozzarella cheese. sprinkle that down toa little bacon strip, sprinkle another one, andthen let it fry on one side, the oil is going to cook out. and then you flip it over,

and then you crisp itup on the other side. - oh, that's so crispy.- and you end up withthis crispy bacon cheese. yeah, and it'sactually healthier than cheese because you'recooking out the oil. healthier than cheese? ohyou're cooking out the oil. yeah -- so, it's healthierthan eating regular cheese. fried baconcheese is better than -- fried cheese isbetter than regular cheese?!

that's this guy's concept. idon't know if i trust him on it. you're cooking out the oil. it makes, yeah-- common sense -- but don't you haveto put oil in the pan? no, because there's somuch oil in cheese already. so after we'vegot our bacon cheese you can take thatout on a paper towel, and just let it,you know, like bacon you let it dry out.

so, for the pepperring mold, very simple, take a bellpepper, any color will do, and just chop off aring just like that. throw that in the panwith a little bit of oil, and i just likesautã©ing it on one side, you get a little extra flavor. then i flip it over and i crackan egg right into the ring mold, it's so genius, youcontain it right in that thing. if you want it runny, you can skip this step,

but if you wantit cooked through i would just pokea hole in the yolk, spread out the yolkso it's nice and even. when the pepper is cooking we're going totake the english muffin and we're going toput down a little oil, and just get that extra crispy, because it's just going to tastebetter when you get a little -- just because it's a pepperdoesn't mean salt and pepper,

don't forget thesalt and pepper. and now we're ready to plate, take off your english muffin, stack on thatpepper ring egg creation, and then top it with alittle bit of bacon cheese. whoooo! and you can obviouslyput extra sauce on that, whatever you want, ilike the hot sauce -- maya: you can break the rules. with ketchup.

maya: add more ingredients. yeah, you can add tops. flatbread pan pizzais incredible because you don't need an oven. most people incollege don't have an oven, you can do this onlike a foreman grill or a little hot plate. all you do is you takethe flatbread, not the pita, pita would work, but --

- pocket less.- yeah, pocket less. - pocket less. - it's the same as a flatbread. put a little oil down in thepan, cook it on the one side, and what that's going to do isget it like a little bit crispy, so then when you flip it overthat side is already heated, so that's the trick, right? it's like an -- it'san instant pizza oven. instant pizza oven. it's crispiness.

and then you putyour little sauce down, don't use too much,or it'll get too watery. sprinkle some cheese, and at this point youjust kind of let it cook. you can cover it if you want, it will sort of createa little oven in there, and steam up the cheese soit's this up and down thing. this up and down thing?what are you talking about? the heat, it willbounce off the lid.

oh, the heat is going up, andthen it's going down, i get it. yeah, and then you take itoff, you rip on some basil, or whatever you want, no basil, basil it's all good with me. and then you just cut it up and you have this deliciouscrispy on the bottom pizza. and that thing isgreat with extra vegetables, whatever you want to put on it. maya: you can addanything you want. yeah!

pizza for breakfast. when your pizza on the flatbreadyou can have pizza anytime. so, simple and so good. and if you're vegan youcan get rid of the mozzarella, or the cheese and use pesto. yeah, just make it like a tomatopie or you can use pesto. very easy to convertthat into other things, but the crispiness you getfrom a pan, so underrated, so underrated.

so, for the finalrecipe, the dinner experience. we're going to do thefour ingredient tofu broccoli and pineapple stir-fry. so, what we'regoing to start off with is a little bit of firm tofu, i took the tofu and i justput that in some paper towel to really drain out the liquid, because we want to getsome crispiness on this tofu. it's going totaste so much better.

we're going to get apan, pretty nice and hot. get some oil on there. then i chopped upthe tofu in some cubes, so it fries up nice, threw that in the pan, and just let that sit for likea few minutes on the one side. you're going forthat brown crust. that is the flavor, that'sthe experience right there. then i flip thatover to the other side, just toss that around until allthe sides are nice and brown,

nice and crispy. make sure you hit the tofuwith salt every now and then, because the tofu loves the salt. it needs it, it's going tobe pretty bland without it. so, once that's done, throw that off into a bowl. now we're onto the broccoli. i add a littlemore oil into the pan, and i literallyjust take the broccoli and shave it offright into the pan.

- a broccoli haircut? - a broccoli haircut, exactly. these ones? ok, josh -- thatis the broccoli head, i think this broccolihead needs a broccoli haircut. a lot of broccoli in this head. so, the broccoli is cut up, it's starting tofry up in that pan. while that's happening youcan make your quick sauce. we're going to open up acan of pineapple chunks,

and i know thatsounds a little weird -- maya: so weird. but it's going to be delicious because you're starting to get alittle sweetness in the sauce. so, you pour off some ofthe juice in the pineapple, and then you're goingto add soy sauce to that, that's our last ingredient. so, right there two ingredientinstant salty and sweet in the sauce. it's perfect.

- sweet & sour, i like it.- sweet & sour, exactly. so, then we're going to takethe actual pineapple chunks and throw them inwith the broccoli, and just start tosautã© those off together, and then oncethat's looking real nice, right at thispoint, looking real good, we're going to takethe tofu, put it back in there, and add on yourdelicious sweet & sour sauce. mmm!

just let that sitand build it's flavor, the sugars are going to reduce, and it's going tojust turn into glory. i'm telling you, look at that. just absolutely glory -- praise the lights. just cook it for a few minutes, everything isgoing to come together, you still got alittle extra sauce,

you can serve that over rice,of course, or over noodles. that's going to be delicious, but again we are fouringredients right here. mm, so good. pineapple. that actually isjust straight vegan, the others are vegetarian. you can add alittle scallions in there, some brown rice, oh yeah.

holy hell. look at these yummies. [laughter] look at these yummies. not too bad, right? i really like a stir-fry, i would neverthink to put pineapple, or any fruit with a stir-fry. make sure you guyshead over to their channel. brothers green eats.

you know, budget cooking,a lot of fun videos over there, but we also did a collabvideo with maya on our channel, you can click onthat right here, "back to schooltoaster ovens recipes." toaster oven! ilove toaster ovens. - yeah. - they're so small. everyone -- you know ifyou've got a toaster oven you can make alot in that thing, so make sure you check that out.

yes, so these are theirfavorite college recipes. i want to know what yours is. comment below, letus know, mine was close to this. yeah, you -- [crosstalk] i had this, but onan english muffin. when we originallytalked to maya she said her favorite waslike a pizza bagel, or pizza on an english muffin. so, you're saying you canbasically put these together

and you have the ultimate -- yeah, combo pack. cool, kind of like -- combo pack! this tastes good and -- let us know what you guyswhat you guys want to see next. we'll do another collaboration,we'll do volume two. that's it, remember to do you. be you.

stay true. be shameless! whooooo!!! whoo!!! [laughter] i want to eat. hold on, do we need this? ♪ ♪

can crash diets kill you

can crash diets kill you

you know those parents who took their young kids to see deadpool, then got super offended by how mature the movie was? can the opening to deadpool 2 just be him delivering a psa

can crash diets kill you, on the movie rating system to all parents who don't know better? hahaha! now that would be incredible! [opening theme music]

hello internet! welcome to film theory! the show that's gonna get through an entire deadpool episode without mentioning chimichangas once. oh wait. does that count? crap, but if i can get serious here for a moment. this year bill and melinda gates... yes, those gates, reached out to me. yes, that me,

to do a video about superpowers! it's pretty awesome, right? you see, every year the gateses write a letter outlining their take on key global issues. with this year's letter being called, "two superpowers we wished we had." in the letter, they challenged the reader to imagine what their superpower for good would be. the goal of the letter is to broaden awareness and get each of us involved to help make a positive, lasting change in the world. it's an incredibly noble cause and honestly i'm honored to be included as part of the campaign. it's funny, but when i think of what i can do to try and make a positive

change in the world, i honestly think of these channels. because yeah, for as goofy and inane it might be to analyse the real world physics of ant man's suit or the deadliness of a bullet bill, i like to think it's giving you a bit of education along the way. maybe brightening your day. and so no, it's not curing cancer or anything, but i'm never going to be the type to do that. instead i'd like to think that these videos make at least, some of your worlds just a little bit happier. and teach some of you at least something new every week. or who knows, i might be living in a dream world.

anyways, sappy stuff aside as i was thinking about what superpower i'd want i immediately thought: i wanna be deadpool ! (sound of relief) "i am very turned on right now." uhh! not quite in that way. i-i want his healing factor. in the world of comic books, its a pretty common ability

that does exactly what it sounds like, enhancing a persons ability to recover from wounds quickly. there are tons of different variations of the healing factor ability across comic books. but probably the two most iconic are wolverine's and of course... deadpool's. and this relationship is no coincidence. deadpool got his healing factor from a serum derived from wolverine. what, do they just have needles full of this stuff lying around? go into the ol' walgreens, get my flu vaccine, and follow up with a healing factor chaser?

great! sign me up! "ughh, god you are hard to look at" oh, oh is that what happens? hmmm, well good thing my most my channels are voice over anyway. [ba-dum tssss!] their regenerative ability gives them an incredibly strong resistance to chemicals and toxins which is great for protecting against vats of acid and not so great for getting drunk. it also boosts the immune system, rendering them pretty well protected against most diseases. it even gives them resistance to telepathic control.

so no one's hopping into deapool's head commanding him to dress as a girl, he's just doing that all on his own. the factor is so quick that it keeps the body's cells from growing old, halting aging almost completely. in short, deapool and wolverine are both basically immortal. which begs the question. how do you kill them? how do you kill the unkillable? if i'm gonna inject myself with healing factor, what do i need to look out for here? well, after doing the research, it looks like most sources have over-looked the factor's one huge weakness.

the fatal-flaw that makes it easy to take down these two characters. well 'most' sources have over-looked it anyway and it's going to surprise you which one happens to be, the most accurate. now first, let me make it clear, that i know both characters have died before. but honestly, it's tended to result from some pretty cheap means. so i'm discounting all things that turn off or counter-act the healing factor. that, quite frankly, is a cop-out from writers who wrote themselves into a corner by making characters that were too powerful. in my analysis today, we're finishing these guys off in a perfectly natural way

that doesn't require some magical anti-heal. additionally, we're not pulling a dragon-ball z and talking about disintegrating every last cell. too easy as an explanation, and quite frankly, too difficult to actually execute. i mean, in uncanny x-men annual #11 wolverine actually grows his entire body back from a single drop of blood. that's pretty darn impressive. like to see that in the next x-men movie. but, in all seriousness, that's assuming you're able to disintegrate him that fast. which in and of itself is a challenge. i mean, in venom #9 wolverine is able to heal after a nuclear bomb destroys a village.

a nuclear bomb! and if you think he just got lucky, well think again. it happens another time in ultimate wolverine vs. hulk. lightning may not strike twice, but apparently nuclear warheads do. look, the 'how to kill them' problem is so bad, that even professor charles xavier doesn't know. in his xavier protocols, which are basically his to do list for when a powerful mutant becomes a threat to the world, he makes a note to himself that reads thusly: 'decapitation', and you'd think that this is a guy who'd know right? i mean say what you want about his nonstop cries of agony in the animated series. (cries of pain)

the guy is smart. a world leader in mutant abilities. and yet for some superhealers like wolvie and dp. decapitation has also been disproven. man if you can't behead them and a bomb can't disintegrate them fast enough. what's gonna to do it? uhh, i don't know! two alternate universe earths smashing together? wow, what an oddly specific cosmic event i've just described there. but uhh, yes, actually that'll do it. a multi universe earth crash is the exact reason why deadpool is currently dead in the comics. but again, i'm just a simple man with a totally average cosmic altering powers,

and i need something doesn't need to escalate that quickly. put those nuclear war heads away... put 'em away. nooo. good. good. because the healing factor's weakness is much simpler than all of this. wolverine, and especially deadpool, are vulnerable to every single one of you viewers watching right now and it all has to do with the brain. or more specifically, memories. because, sure these guys may be able to regenerate their whole body from a single drop of blood,

but one thing the factor can't regenerate is memory. let me explain. you see first thing to understand about memory formation and why you can't regenerate memories is that memories aren't stored. they're not physical things. neurons, the cells in the brain. are physical things and healing factor is made to restore or replace damaged cells. but neurons are not the same as memories and that's the problem here. memories are signals. a short term memory, say the last diet coke you drank, is a pattern of signals in your mind. #notsponsored. #justanaddict

so you drink a diet coke and the sensation you get from it trigger a signal in a specific neurons in your pre-frontal cortex. the area that stores short term memory. that signal starts of as an electric potential created by ions moving in and out of the cells at one end of the neuron. that electrical signal then triggers a chemical signal. which is a physical transfer of ions from one neuron to another. physically transferring ions causes the electrical signals in the next neuron to change. which is how the electrical and chemical signal is carried across a lot ofneurons.

in short, it's a chain reaction. so how then, do these signals creatememories? well, each of your memories has aspecific chain reaction of signals across a specific set of neurons. your diet coke signal started the first time you cracked open a diet coke and feltit's cool, crisp, refreshing burn slide down your throat. when you took that first sip, some of your taste neurons sent

a signal to some of your other tasteneurons in a specific pattern as you thought: "mhmm." "this is bubbly and habit forming." the pattern of neurons firing for your drinking diet coke memory is differentfrom the pattern for your drinking orange juice memory or, your tastingchocolate pattern. it's specifically your diet coke pattern, and it gives you a specific memory of diet coke. i-i swear this isn't sponsored. i just have a problem. now let me be clear.

all electrical signals going on betweentwo individual neurons is basically the same across the entirety of your brain. what makes something a memory is thespecific set of neurons that are activated in association with aparticular activity. the brain has a hundred million neurons. so if a few of them are involved in each memory. the brain has the theoreticalpotential to store almost an infinite number of memories based on how manycombinations of neurons there are and how many unique patterns of signals you can create.

in this way, the brain is an incredible storage system. and how do these things get stored? well, when you experience something once, a few of your neurons start a signal pattern. when you think back to remember that experience your brain is actually recreating that same signal pattern again. when you've only experienced something once, you can only dimly recreate that pattern when you think about it

or it fades away pretty fast. if you want to improve your recall of that experience you have to reinforce it. to do that, you have toexperience it again. so you drink a second diet coke. then another and before long you have an emotional dependence. #winning every time you repeat the activity you

trigger the same signal pattern over and over again and your brain starts to store that pattern in a long-term memory area, the hippocampus. the neurons get a little bit closer to each other and, when that happens, the signal becomes strongerbecause chemicals don't have to travel that far. the signals also become stronger and more frequent. so over time those memories become ingrained because the signal patterns have been used so much.

so then, why can't wolverine or deadpool just regenerate memories? quite frankly, it's because there's nothing to regenerate. based on what we've outlined, the memory isn't part of the neuron, it's a pattern of signals between neurons. it's a tricky concept so let me explain it this way. when you learn about physics you learn about electrical currents, which is a movement of electrons. you can think of memories in a lot the same way. in physics you can measure an electric

current, you can turn it on and off, etc. but it's not a physical thing you can hold in your hand. the current runs through the wires and generates electricity. but just because you make a wire doesn't mean there isautomatically a current running through it. in humans, you can theoretically rebuild the neurons. they're a lot like the wires running all through the brain. but just having the neurons there doesn't mean

that the right electrical pattern will run through them. memories only happen when the specific neurons in your brain have already experienced something. new cells don't come equipped with memories. when you regenerate an arm, or a leg, or a creepylittle baby hand, those are new body parts and their function doesn't require you to have experienced something before. but newly regenerated neurons are likebaby neurons. they're brand new, they're a blank slate! which is great because they're intact, but bad because only neurons with experiences havememories.

new neurons have to start from scratch, even if they're all in the right place. to put it simply, our two super healers can grow back the brain cells, sure, but not the brain's electrical patterns. and as a result they're a blank shell, a husk. a being without memories. think about it! sure, they may look like wolverine and deadpool, but they won'tact like them. without those neural connections they lose the elite fighting training and arrogant personalities that make them, them.

it's something that, in my research, literally no one has addressed. well, almost no one, and that is thebiggest irony of all. in the movie, x-men origins: wolverine, yeah, we're talking about that one. a movie, mind you, that is on practically every list ofworst superhero movies of all time. the villain striker shoots wolverinemultiple times in the head with adamantium bullets. piercing his skull and destroying his brain. his line as he does this? "his brain may heal, but his memorywon't grow back."

and of course, this is exactly what happens. his brain is destroyed and his memories go away. wolverine has amnesia. and remember, thisis the movie so bad that it didn't give deadpool a mouth. deadpool, the merc with a mouth! you had one job guys! one! then they chose to make it look like baraka from mortal kombat. because why not?

it's a movie so bad that they mistakenly think that wolves are the same as wolverines! they can't get that right, but somehow they're the only one who's able to get the science right?! i - i-i don't even know what to say! and here's the thing, deadpool is even more vulnerable than wolverine was in thisscene. logan's skeleton is coated with adamantium. a fictional metal that's basically the hardest material ever created. it took bullets made of the stuff topuncture his skull and damage his brain. which, again, is a huge oversight based on canon lore around adamantium...whatever!

this movie sucks! deadpool though, on the other hand, doesn't have that advantage. despite his incredible healing abilities, he stilljust has a normal human skeleton. just one well-placed bullet, hitting eitherthe frontal cortex or hippocampus, would knock out huge percentages of his memory. of course his healing abilities would kick in and his head would repair itself. but it wouldn't have any of wade wilson's memories. or, any memories at all. it would be completely empty.

like wiping a hard drive. destroy the brain, and wade wilson as we know him ceases to be. kind of like a zombie. i think deadpool would appreciate that sort of reference. in the end, i guess it just goes to show often times good science doesn't result in good movies. but, hey! that's just a theory! a film theory!

aaand cut! and before you go, a huge thankyou once again to bill and melinda gates for reaching out to me to pontificate a bit about superheroes. now that i'm wrapping up this video, irecommend taking the next five minutes to read their annual letter by clickingthe link in the description. if we're talking about real life superheroes, then the gateses are two people who definitely fall in that category. using their global influence to inspireothers to make a positive difference in the world around them.

so read the letter and get inspired to make your mark on the world. though you may not be the person who cures cancer or brings electricity to central africa. oddly specific reference i knowbut it's in the letter. remember that being a hero doesn't require something big. you can be someone else's hero by just saying or doing something small for someone else. so go ahead today tell your parents that you love them. tell a co-worker you appreciate them. take some time to get to know the quiet kid who sits alone at lunch.

the world will be a better place for itone person at a time. and finally, enough sappiness, but let me know in thecomments if you could have one superpower what would you want? if you say flying, i don't blame you. it's in my top three, along with healing factor, and, i don't know, uh... the power of musical theater! they shall call me... show tunes lad! or something.

now if you'll excuse me, i gotta go. crisp high five? crisp high five!

best food for 14 year old dog

hey guys, it’s ro! today i’m going tobe making some diy dog treats! my dog cookie’s first birthday is in twodays and i wanted to do something special for her, i don’t normally make homemadedog treats, she just eats yummy dog food, but, i wanted to do somethingfor the occasion. i’m gonna be making some homemade treatsbased on foods that she loves.

best food for 14 year old dog, cookie loves to eat peanut butter, she loveschicken, and she loves bananas. she goes bananas for bananas! it’s her favorite! so the first thing that we’re gonna be makingare these homemade peanut butter dog biscuits!

to make these peanut butter dog biscuits, the ingredients you will need, will be: 2-1/2 cups of whole wheat flour, i like touse all organic products for my doggie! and it is a good side note that if your doghas any food allergies, you can substitute the ingredient. for example, if they are allergicto wheat, a good substitute is rice flour or coconut flour. 1 cup of water,1 cup of peanut butter, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon of bakingpowder. the tools you will need will be: a bakingsheet, mixing bowl, hand mixer, rolling pin, these cute wilton pet cookiecutters! i will be using the bone shaped cookie cutter and a fork.

the first thing we’re gonna do is we aregonna combine our flour, egg and baking powder into the mixing bowl. then we’regonna give it a quick mix. next we’re gonna add our water, peanut butterand honey to the bowl. then you’re gonna mix together until everythingis well combined. now our dough is ready, and it’s ready toroll out, and a really good thing to know about this recipe is that it’s notgonna rise very much because we’ve only added one egg, so when you’re rollingit out you’ll want to roll it to the thickness that it will be at the end.i like shoot for about a 1/2 an inch. so you’re just gonna take a little flour, sprinkle it over your surface

so that the dough doesn’t stick. then you’regonna take your dough, press ‘em down, oh it smells so good! it smells like peanutbutter! then we’re just gonna roll it out, about1/2 an inch thick. now you’re gonna take your bone shaped cookiecutter, this is so cute! and we’re just gonna cut out a bunch ofour little peanut butter biscuits! now you’re gonna remove the excess dougharound your cookies and transfer them to your baking sheet. this part is totally optional, but i liketo add a little detail to our dog biscuits! cookie won’t know the difference, but ithink it’s really fun, kind of like

when you make peanut butter cookies, you pressthe fork in at different angles and it has that signature peanut butter cookielook, i like to make signature biscuit look by taking a fork and just pressingstraight down, to make little divots. now we’re gonna bake these in the oven at350 degrees for about 18 minutes, just keep your eye on ‘em! mmmm! they’re fresh out of the oven, they’reall done, and they smell really good! they just smell like peanut butter. theseare also people safe, you can take a little bite, it tastes like peanut butter, it’sa little bit drier biscuit, but just remember, they’re not sweet at all, they’renot like a cookie because there is

no sugar added to them. so, definitely yummy for dog treats. next thing that we’re gonna be making arechicken flavored ice cube bones. i don’t know about your dog, but my dogcookie loves ice cubes, every time she hears the ice cube maker from the refrigeratorshe comes running! the things you’ll need to make these chickenflavored ice cube bones will be: a bone mold, this one is by wilton and i’mgonna be using it as an ice cube tray, organic chicken broth and some boiled chickenbreast. i love this recipe because it is simple andit's super easy to make, and cookie

loves it! over here i’ve got 2 pieces oforganic chicken, i’ve boiled them until they were fully cooked, and the firstthing that we’re gonna do is just shred them, and add them to each little bonemold. after you’ve filled the tray with a bunchof shredded chicken, now we are gonna add our chicken broth on top. to makeit a little bit easier i’m gonna be pouring it into a measure cup with a pourspigot because i’m messy! once you’ve filled the tray with the chickenbroth, now you’re gonna pop these in the freezer for a few hours until they havecompletely frozen. and next, we are going to make a doggie birthdaycake!

cookie is gonna get so excited because it isgonna be a meat based cake, with a peanut butter banana frosting, andcookie loves bananas! om-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum! the things you will need for this doggie birthdaycake will be: a mixing bowl, a hand mixer, two 4-inch cookingpans, i’m using spring form pans, because they’re super easy. cooking spray,1 pound of organic ground beef, 1/4 a cup of rolled oats, 1/4 a cup of shreddedcheese, i’m using cheddar, 1 egg, 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 tablespoonof vanilla extract, and 1 ripe banana! the first thing that you’re gonna do isin your mixing bowl, we are gonna combine

our beef, egg, oats and cheese, and we’rejust gonna mix it together, i’m gonna use my hands. now we are gonna split this evenly betweenour two pans, so i’m just gonna eyeball it. now i’m gonna pop these in the oven at 350degrees for about 40 minutes, until the meat is cooked all the way through. our doggiecakes are baking in the oven, and now we are gonna make some frosting usingpeanut butter and mashed banana! which is cookie’s favorite! so i think she’sgonna love this. so in a mixing bowl, we’re gonna add ourpeanut butter, our banana, and i’m just gonna break it up into little pieces, andour vanilla extract.

now we are gonna mix them together until theyare well combined. now our peanut butter banana frosting is ready and this part is totally optional, but i’m gonna be putting the majorityof the frosting into a decorating bag, with no tip, and this will just makeit easier to apply to the cake. and then, in the second bag, i’m gonna beputting a number 21 tip, it has a little star. for a little bit of deign onthe cake. to make it look like a birthday cake! now that our doggie cakes are out of the ovenand have had a little bit of time to cool, they can still be warm, this is justfine.

we are going to level them by cutting offthe top. this will make them easier to stack. now is a good time to pick whatever plate youwant to serve your little doggie cake on, and i’ve got this teeny little mini,i think it’s a cupcake tray, but i’m gonna be using it as my doggie cake tray, cookieis gonna love it! you’re just gonna take the bottom layerof your cake, i’m setting it right here, and i’m gonna put a layer, so that my pattieswill stick together. now we’re gonna put on our second layer, stick it right on top. now we are gonna frost the entire cake. ilike to start on the top, so i’m

just gonna pipe our frosting all along thetop, and then use the spatula to flatten it out and press it all the way aroundthe sides of the cake. our doggie cake is looking so cute, and i’madding some final touches, again this is totally optional and not in the recipe, but i’m gonna be adding a little candle, oh! we’re gonna be celebrating herbirthday a little bit early, and she’s such a little dog so i’m just gonnabe giving her a little slice of this cake, she’s gonna have to share withfriends! and then what do i have here? a little bit of confetti, just gonna put theseon for fun.

ta-da! here are the diy dog treats that we made today! we made, homemade peanut butter dog biscuits, organic chicken flavored ice cube bones, and a doggie birthday cake for cookie, she’sgonna love it. it’s basically a meatloaf with frostingmade of mashed bananas and peanut butter! ill be posting pictures on facebook, tumblr, instagram and twitter, and if you guys make these for your pets at home fora special occasion, please take a picture and send it to me, i love seeing your bakingcreations! even if they are for your pet.

also, i made a video over on wilton’s channel,i’ll put links down below so you can go check it out. but it’s basicallyabout a ton of cool ways to use cookie cutters! like today, we used thiscute little cookie cutter to make dog biscuits! and on nerdy nummies, i usethem all the time, from rice krispies teats to many other things. and also, a big thank you to wilton for partneringwith me on this video. alright, thanks again, bye-bye!

best food for 14 year old cat

best food for 14 year old cat

kids, you just haveit all handed to you. and let me justtell you something, it's all about kittens. kittens, kittens--oh, i want a kitten. so sweet.

best food for 14 year old cat, please, let me have a littleball of fuzz, a little kitten. what about the older guys? what about them? let me tell you something, youngster, you better

go out there andcatify the world! now, get out of here. yesterday i went to thiswonderful woman's house, janet. hi janet. she's fantastic. she's a great artist. and she's also a caretaker formany elderly and special needs cats and dogs. i mainly wanted totalk a little bit

today about the benefitsof adopting an older cat, slash dog, slash pony, slash bunny, whatever. first of all, they demandless and they give more. that i can tell you bymy experience, and maybe my friend janet, andanybody else who specializes in older animals. they can tell you, man, these guys are grateful. you will find that the love thatyou get from an older animal is just unparalleled.

and i'm not justsaying this, guys, i'm not just sayingthis because i want to go out there and be justlike my friend janet yesterday. and take the hard to place guys, take the ones that are older, take the ones that mayhave higher vet bills. yeah. i mean i get it, it mightbe an inconvenience. and also psychologicallymay be very tough for you. but that said, the paybackis absolutely immense.

secondly, by andlarge, they tend to be less willfullydestructive. less in the way of marking, orif they don't get their way, they pee somewhere and theycan scratch up everything. now, of course, they mayhave physical problems that we see manifestin older cats. but in terms ofbehavioral problems, i see a lot less when itcomes to older versus kittens, teenagers, and middle age.

so let's talk about oldercats and your household. if you work a lot,you don't really want a kitten in yourhouse, or a teenager. they're going to bedemanding of you. you've seen me do a lotof videos on play therapy, on getting energy out of cats. a 9-year-old, 10-year-oldcat, you don't really have to worry that much aboutconstantly entertaining them. of course, we want to keepthem mentally stimulated,

and physicallystimulated as well. but that doesn't meanthey demand it the way younger cats do. once you get toa certain age, it is about the pathof least resistance. and that makes for a muchcalmer house for the most part. because instead of hunt, catch, kill, eat, groom, and sleep, it's like watch someoneelse hunt, catch, and kill. and then you can eatand groom and sleep.

that is the lifeof an older cat. that's like what catretirement is all about. another advantage to anolder animal in your home-- when you get an oldercat, a senior cat, you know what you're getting. you know if they have a historywith other cats or dogs. you know how tolerant theyare of children, for instance. you know how they'llintegrate into your house, or not integrate.

when you get akitten, you're not sure what you're getting,in terms of the personality. so what you see iskind of what you get, as opposed too much younger cat. if i were an 8,9-year-old cat sitting in your house, thelast thing that i would want-- thelast thing-- would be a kitten-- thatball of energy. and we're not justtalking kitten,

we're talking about up toabout a year and a half old, that energy level will justdrive a middle aged or senior cat to distraction. so why not set them up withsomeone of their own age? we do have a problemin terms of housing older animals in this world. i mean, we've got animalsthat are doing behaviorally and physically lesswell the longer they stay in the shelter.

and, with older age, wesee less of an ability to fight things off like that. plus, they're less popular. they're not going toget adopted as fast. you have open admissionshelters that are unfortunately killing these cats. and you've got selectiveadmission shelters that say, yeah, we really can'tdo much with your 12-year-old because i don'tknow if we're going

to be able to gethim out of here. that's the realitythe situation, folks. we did touch onthis a little bit-- is there a quoteunquote "downside"? if you are adoptingan older animal, you should be able to take careof that cat, dog, or whomever. and that means that thevet bills will be higher. you do have to commit tobringing your senior cat in for an annual wellness exam.

now, i know i canget in to your head when it comes to your psyche. if you had a kittensitting here, or teenager cat, and anolder cat-- and you say, i'm going to take the kitten. and why is it youtake that kitten? well, first ofall, you don't want to be faced with thatanimal's mortality. you just don't want to giveyour heart to an animal

that you might losesooner than later. i get that. but, again, we're talkingabout expanding out our circle of compassion. the second thing is peopleare under the mistaken notion that bringing in a kitten intoa home with existing animals will be easier. there's no hard andfast about that. because they will beteenagers soon enough,

they're going to causehavoc in your home. and you're going to have aneasier time, in my opinion and in my experience, with anolder versus a younger cat. and the otherthing is, you think you might be able tomold them into the shape that you would likethem to be, as opposed to the concept of teachingan old cat, or an old dog, new tricks. we all know that's not the case.

just because a cat, ora dog, or anybody else has certain setroutines doesn't mean we can change them over time. but in the meantime, can we lookpast the cute cuddly kittens? again, i've talkedabout this a lot-- the concept of expandingyour circle of compassion-- about saying well, if i lovethis cute little cuddly kitten, do i love this8-year-old sitting here in the cage nextto the cuddly kitten?

there are so many advantagesto bringing home an older cat. now, let me just make onemore little caveat here-- just because i'm singing thepraises of older animals today does not mean i'm tellingyou not to take home the kittens and the teenagers. they all need homes, folks. they all need homes. i think in a verybig sense though, if there's an older animalsitting in the shelter

or rescue that you knowof, they need that home a little bit worseright about now. hey, by the way, people are still asking me thesupermarket questions. they're asking me verysimple behavioral questions that, guess what, i've alreadyaddressed on this very show on "cat mojo." if you will just take alook back over old episodes, you'll see that i touchon a lot of the question

that you guys might have. for instance, about catifyingyour home, the confident where. if you talk about introducingcat to cat, plenty of things that you might be having troublewith, i've already addressed. so make sure that if you find aquestion on twitter or facebook from somebody else who'sgetting really frustrated, guide them back to oldepisodes of "cat mojo." and maybe we'll helpkeep those cats in homes. and by the way, if thereis a supermarket question

that i haven't answeredyet, well then by all means, please don't hit meup at the supermarket, hit me up athashtag teamcatmojo. and that's that. all right folks, until next time, when we speak, which willbe-- oh, in just about a week's time-- begood to yourselves, be good to theanimals in your lives, and adopt yourselfan older cats,

slash dog, slash pony, slashbunny, slash something today, ok? all right. until next time, all light, all love, all mojo to you. love you guys. theme song: i'm not a bad cat-- you're a bad cat-- i'm not a bad cat-- i'm just misunderstood.

best diet pills for 14 year olds

alright! this is john kohler with okraw.com.today we have another exciting episode for you. i have a friend of mine, robert cheeke, and the reason why i wanted to have him on the show today is because he has a brand newbook and the book is called “shred it!” really simple really easy. now i wanna readyou guys this quote on the book. “robert cheeke is the frontiersman in a plant basedbody building convincingly demonstrating you

best diet pills for 14 year olds, can be the best you can be eating plants andtraining with skillfully applied resistance” caldwell b. esselstyn m.d. and at the bottomit says “the shred it book is your step by step guide to burning fat and buildingmuscle on a whole food plant based diet” and that’s another reason why i wanted tohave him on the show today because he’s

into a whole food diet which is what i advocate.there are plenty of vegan diets out there that are still eating processed and junk foodsand eating protein supplements. and actually according to robert you don’t even needthat but i’m not even gonna tell you more about that because we’re gonna let robertdo that but before we do, i wanna be sure that you guys get something out of this video.you know and you guys could change your life by watching one of my videos. like i liketo do with all my videos is give you guys some information. so first i wanna ask robertsome other questions on what’s 3 simple ways to burn fat on a whole food plant baseddiet? robert: well thank you john. first of allthanks for having me appreciate it. good to

be back. john: thanks. robert: it’s been a year but it’s alwaysgood to be here. so here it is really simple. so what you really need to do is get intoan effective fat burning zone. i mean you need to be efficient. so what that means isone of the best ways to effectively burn fat is to exercise first thing in the morningon an empty stomach, therefore you haven’t consumed carbohydrates or any fuel or anycalories over the last 8 or 10 hours depending on how much you slept or when your last mealwas the day before. and the reason why that is is because a little bit of glycogen storesin your muscles because we always have to.

we always have to some glycogen. that’sour main energy source. that’s our carbohydrate fuel but we don’t have a whole lot of itif we haven’t eaten in 10 hours. so when you burn through that in the first few minutesof training, your body’s gonna call upon fat as fuel. and so when you do exercise firstthing in the morning, and it can be super low key. you can get up, check your emailriding a stationery bike or go for a hike in the sun or do something for 25 35 40 minutesand that’s it. a short investment. it’s hard an hour. you’re burning calories. you’resweating, you’re burning calories and you’re calling on fat as your fuel. another greattime to get into a great effective fat burning zone is after weight lifting. so during weightlifting, you’ve had maybe you’ve had a

meal right before. maybe you ate just beforethe workout. well great. you burn through those glycogen stores, you burn through thosecalories after about an hour an hour and 15 minutes at the gym. i mean how often whenyou’re training do you start to feel hungry or a little bit tired in your weight trainingworkout or any workout for that matter? after a little over an hour, you just you’re depletedfrom those glycogen stores and your body’s then gonna turn to fat. i spent 10 years asa body builder and that was one of the main approaches that i did. i would either getup first thing in the morning and do some cardiovascular training to get into a fatburning zone and get ripped and shred it. if i didn’t feel like that, not necessarilya morning person, then what i would do is

hammer through a really powerful workout wherei ate beforehand. so i’m really fueled, really strong, and really nourished, and iget a great muscle building workout and i follow it up with 25 minutes on the stairstepper, or if it’s sunny outside i’d go for a jog, go for a hike. get on a rowingmachine, get on a stationery bike. something like that and it’s a fantastic way to burnfat efficiently. another way is we all have friends who spend an hour on the treadmill7 days a week and not achieve fat loss. i mean how can this possibly be? well here’sone reason. what if this person is drinking sugary drinks the entire workout? plant based, plant based sugary drinks whatever the case is, if we’re taking in all of this fuelall of this carbohydrate fuel and sugars we’re

gonna use that. that’s gonna be our fuel.like you know you’re adding the gas in your car. i mean that’s gonna be your fuel toget you through that workout and that’s great if you’re training for a marathonor that’s great if you’re training for endurance. that’s not great if your objectiveis to burn fat. that person on the treadmill may strengthen their heart, may strengthentheir bones, they may build up nice calf muscles but if they’re sipping on a drink reallyof any type of calories in it, anything other than water, they’re slowing down their abilityto burn fat. and so if you do any one of those 3 things you will be on the right path. soworkout on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, or do cardiovascular trainingafter weight training later on during the

day, and always avoid eating or drinking duringthe workout if your intention is to burn fat. john: wow i mean that seems super simple andsuper easy and yet most people are unable to do it. so robert next thing is how do youbuild muscle on a whole food plant based diet? 3 tips. robert: yeah i’ve got a very detailed chapter,as i do for fat burning, in the book and first of all it starts with this john, you haveto know basal metabolic rate. you have to know your caloric expenditure on a daily basis.so based on your gender, age, height, and weight, you have to know how many caloriesyou’re expending and then combine that with your herospanic dec equation, which is youractivity level. so your herospanic dec equation

or dec calculator, will determine based onyour true activity how many calories you’re burning which you then add to your basal metabolicrate and come up with the real number. so in a real world of application what does thatmean? for me as a 35 year old handsome 176 pound man, i’m burning i’m just joking,i’m burning 1,740 calories if i just lie on the couch watching tv. something i don’tdo but if i’m just burning heat through metabolism or just lying their on the floor, that’s what i’m gonna burn. but when you factor in all the things that i really doi go for walks, i take the dog out benny on a regular basis, i take the stairs i won’tsee the inside of an elevator i take the stairs at every opportunity. i go to the gym 4 to5 times a week depending on my travel schedule.

when you factor all of that in, all of thethings that i really do, carrying things lifting things up and putting them down, in realityi burn 3,230 calories a day. so what does that mean? that means if i wanna build muscle,i need to consume from plant based whole food nutrient dense sources, 3,200 calories justto maintain weight. if i wanna build muscle i need to supersede that and consume an excessor a surplus of maybe about 500 calories per day. so over the course of a week that’s3500 excess calories and combined with resistance weight training that could theoretically puton another pound of muscle per week which over the course of a month that’s 4 pounds.that’s quite a bit. in reality that’s adding 12 pounds in 3 months. it doesn’talways equate to that but if we are stedfast

and determined and consistent, what we’llnotice is that transparency is the most important thing. many of us say you know i’m a bigeater. i have no idea how many calories per day i eat. like oh i workout a lot, no ideahow many calories i’m expending. but actually it becomes a mathematical formula and it’svery very effective when you do know the metrics. you can actually have control over whetheryou’re gonna lose weight, stay the same. or gain weight and it’s just gonna be combinedwith resistance weight training and really knowing your caloric expenditure and eatingthe right kind of foods. now additional tips, you know we’re talking about multiple tipshere, is actually doing the right type of exercise. so compound movements, resistanceweight training, bar bell, dumbbell lifts.

usually a pyramid in repetitions, so maybestarting out with 15 reps on some sort of exercise bike, bench press 15 repetitionsas you warm up get your joints loose get muscles loose and supple and ready to be filled upwith blood and to really push hard and create micro tears and muscle fibers which will thenrebuild and repair even stronger. so you start with maybe 15 reps and then 12 reps 8 repsand get a really power set in of 6 or even i was doing 1 rep max last week in austintexas. just as much weight as i could press for 1 rep and then i pyramid back up. wherethen i’ll lower the weight and go up to again maybe 7 8 reps and then 10 12 and finishout with a burn out set. so it’s using free weight exercises compound lifts, to createthat stimulation that muscle growth stimulation.

and then the third tip i would say is findthe exercises that yield the best return on investment. there’s all just like not allfoods are created equally like iceberg lettuce isn’t as good as darker leafy green vegetablessame with lifting weights. an isolated movement for the most part is never gonna be as effectiveas a compound movement which is multi joints, shoulder joint and elbow joint, knee jointand hip joint. anything that’s like a squat or a pressing movement, overhead press, abench press, a bent over row, t bar row, pull ups, these dips these types of exercises.if you can make that the core of your workout. i mean it’s not too uncommon and maybe thisis i’m writing a new article about this actually, it’s not too uncommon for me togo to the gym and pick the one exercise that

i believe will give me the greatest returnon investment and stay there for an hour. 12 sets or more on just the leg press. justthe bar bell bench press putting on hundreds of pounds because i know that’s better thana little cable movement as far as muscle growth muscle growth stimulation strength gains buildingmass. so to build muscle you really have to understand what you’re really consumingwhat you’re really expending. be honest and transparent and have a foundation andbaseline from which to work from and then create a consistent resistance weight trainingprogram with a special emphasis and preference on the exercises that yield the greatest returninvestment. john: that’s really wise words. that’sreally cool. it sounds kind of technical but

i mean it just makes sense to me and i’mnot even a body builder. i mean i like to i mean i do compound exercises all the timeby not going to the gym by just moving my body working in my garden and doing all kindsof crazy things spinning compost shoveling and that’s just getting real world exerciseand that’s what i believe in. i’m not a body builder but yet i have a pretty goodphysique you know for what i do. but robert another thing i really wanted to get intoin this episode for you guys is you know i know you’ve been into being a vegan fornow 20 years and i can’t say when i met you in the beginning you know i think youwere on maybe a little bit more a junk food vegan style but you were really had core veganmore than i ever have been or something but

you were eating junk foods but yet still bodybuilding and yet still putting on weight but now i’m so glad that you’ve made the switchto a whole foods plant based vegan diet and you’re able to still maintain your muscle.and you’ve been getting stronger right? so tell my viewers about why you might notwanna eat you know processed foods and even like you know raw vegan protein powders youknow. robert: yeah. john: what that may be doing. robert: good question. i you know i’ve beengoing through this transition. i transitioned to a whole food diet about 3 years ago. andi’ll just take you back in time because

as john said i’ve been doing this for 20years. i started as a 120 pound 15 year old. you know vegan 5 star athlete in high schoolwith the ambition of getting bigger and stronger. i wasn't sure that i could do it. this wasbefore the internet came of age or at least the public internet. there weren’t a lotof resources to look to and so i just created my own path myself. a few years later i was195 pounds and winning body building competitions but as you pointed out some of my claims tofame were eating 18 tofu hot dogs a day, a baker’s dozen of sesame seed bagels. formy size, 170 or 80 pounds, i was consuming 5,000 calories. at 300 grams of protein thatled me to eventually a very bloated 195 pounds. i was strong and i succeeded in body buildingto some degree winning multiple competitions,

runner up 4 times, competed in the 2006 naturalbody building world championships. i took pride in the fact that i was able to competeas a long time vegan especially someone who had no business in body building. i was askinny runner. i was a skinny runner who had no business in any strength sport but i hada hard work ethic and drive and passion and determination so i made it happen. so i tookpride in the fact that there’s a lot of guys who eat 3 to 6 chickens a day like wholechickens. i mean this people eat multiple fish a day and bits and pieces of many otheranimals their just body builders consume more animals than almost anybody except for maybethe nfl football players. and so i took pride in the fact that i could go up against thatidea that notion and be successful and be

victorious and win and help put that on themap a little bit in the early days. that vegan body building was something that was not onlypossible but you could actually really excel and succeed at it. but over time i reallywasn’t comfortable using so many supplements which i took basically every vegan supplementthat i could and i have to admit that. i mean even primrose oil and i don't even know whatthat does. i don’t know. it was an oil i think it was omega 3s i don't know flax oil, primrose oil, amino acids, glutamine, protein powders. i was even doing 6 protein drinksa day at one time. i was just trying to just get as big and strong as possible and theni came across the opportunity to work for forks over knives and take dr. t colin campbell’splant based nutrition course through cornell

university. and then along with you know i’vealways knowing you you know you always would come by my booths and look at all my stuff.yeah and you know i’d say here comes john again oh. here’s the guy that he broughthis own food and a pineapple’s in his back pocket or something. this guy’s got a bagfull of greens he’s eating and i’m you know got my packaged burrito or somethingover here and anyway yeah you know there were a lot of other influences you know you andmany others who always had me thinking about it but i had the same fear that a lot of peoplehave. i had the fear that i need a certain amount of protein. i mean after all i’ma competitive body builder right? but after taking dr. campbell’s course and havingto write papers and do assignments and give

convincing presentations i decided that youknow i’m gonna give this a try and i’m just gonna eat whole foods. and so about 3years ago, what are we 2015, it was 2012 somewhere around 2012 i decided you know what for atleast a period of time i’m gonna be supplement free and i’m gonna get off processed foods.well fast forward we’re 3 years into it and though i’m not as big as i used to bei would really like to take the opportunity to clarify i retired from body building 5years ago. i retired from body building 2 years before i started this whole food approachand i was writing books and touring, this is my second book i’ve been traveling allaround the world and just doing other interests you know. i mean body building ran its course.i hung up my posing trunks and decided to

do more meaningful work and outreach and tryto interact with people and write books and lecture and tour and try to help animals directlyand do all these other things that were compelling and meaningful to me. so i wasn’t sure icould do it. a low protein diet i mean come on. i mean i actually write about this inthis book. this book is a 70 15 15 approach. you’ve heard of dr. gramhs 80 10 10 andother people have an 80 10 10 type of approach. i have a 70 15 15 approach which i think isjust more practical for most people. if you’re eating a 80 10 10 it really it really i don’twanna say it limits but it really it means you’re gonna be eating a lot of fruits andvegetables. the moment you add legumes and grains nuts and seeds your percentages goup. you can’t do an 80 10 10 with nuts and

seeds and legumes. it just doesn’t workmathematically. it just doesn’t work and so what i found was that 70 15 15 was morepractical and for me and other people. and so i have this 70 15 15 whole food approachand though i’m about 176 pounds right now i’m lifting as heavy as i ever did duringmy hard pro body building career. i mean i may not look i don't know if there’s a widelens on the camera that’ll add 10 pounds. i mean a little flex there i’m not surebut i put up 315 pounds in the decline bench presser a week ago, 120 pound dumbbells ineach hand for for a chest press. i was leg pressing 900 pounds a couple months ago youknow 750 pounds last week. you know i just throw those numbers out there to show thati didn’t lose any strength. i’m 20 pounds

lighter in fact pound for pound i’m stronger.there’s no question about it. john: strength to body ratio yeah. robert: exactly strength to body weight ratiopound for pound i am actually stronger that’s just mathematics. that’s just the way itworks. and i don't even train as consistently or as hard core. i’m not a competitive bodybuilder i don’t have those ambitions. i don’t train with that kind of drive. i trainto stay in shape for my book tours and because i find enjoyment from it. i mean there weretimes when i was body building, i didn’t really like it all the time. i felt forcedto do it. i had to do it for my reputation i had to do it because of what people wouldsay about me and i had to do it for this or

that. as soon as i wiped all of those reasonsaway not necessarily worrying, i mean i still wanted to lead by example i still want tolead by example but not really i’m not gonna let it bother me or whatever people say aboutme and what i’m doing now. i’m having fun eating plant based whole foods high fruithigh carbohydrate low protein low fat you rarely ever hear a body builder say that ora former retired body builder still a fit guy say that. but that’s what i’m doingand that’s what i really that’s what i really believe in right now and that’s whati write about that’s what i speak about and i think it’s important to get that messageout there to athletes who even in this conference i hear it all the time i just can’t go thatlow protein i just need protein. well try

having just a huge heavy workout pressing300 pounds and then go eat a bunch of blueberries and orange and bananas and watermelon andpotatoes. that’s what i do i’m totally happy doing it i’m still very fit stillvery strong and i believe it’s effective. john: so why do you think it’s so effectiverobert? like what’s in the whole foods that’s really giving you the opportunity to be strongerand weigh less? robert: well it’s nutrient density. i meanit’s john: yeah it’s all about the nutrients. robert: it’s not caloric density. i meani used to eat, i say this in all my presentations, you know loaves of french bread, 1100 caloriesin a loaf of french bread. i could do that

in 20 minutes and dip it into like a hummusor something else. that’s another what like okay 3,000 calorie meal just on half timein a football game. you know but thats not nutrient dense. there’s almost nothing inthat. so now what i look at is like i look at the nutrient density of leafy green vegetablesof fruits of root vegetables, of hearty starchy foods whether it’s grains like brown riceand quinoa and other things like that barley, or potatoes yams beans lentils oats. theseare the foods i really use as my hearty filling foods to power me through the day. complexcarbohydrate energy for long fuel long lasting fuel and then a lot of fruit and i’m reallyactually i call myself a high fruit diet. i eat

john: he’s a fruit guy now. i mean i’vebeen doing this for a long time now and finally he’s coming on board. robert: yeah high tofu hot dog guy to highfruit guy same guy same guy. i recently had 19 different kinds of fruit at home i meanthere’s persimmons, guava, yeah i counted and there was you know blueberries raspberriesblackberries strawberries watermelon pineapple papaya guava persimmon tropical ones orangesgrapes bananas i mean you get it. john: so robert how important is eating avariety of fresh plant whole foods you know? do you just stick to bananas and romaine ori mean you just said you had like 18 different varieties. like why is this so important tohave a variety of foods instead of just being

so limited in what you’re eating? robert: i’ll tell you this. most peopleeat about a dozen foods total. the same 12 foods. look at your receipts look at yourpantry look at your refrigerator look at your habits. okay habits is the word here. so mostpeople eat the same dozen foods. here’s the problem, for most people 7 or 8 or moreof those foods are processed refined animal based. they are not plant based whole foods.so now what we’re looking at is the majority of the population consuming 3 or 4 plant basedfoods a day a week a month a year. this compounds. i mean we forget how things compound. ourcaloric intake compounds. we don't gain weight over night we don't lose weight over nightwe don’t increase our endurance and run

a marathon tomorrow. our activities our behavioris compound. and so here’s why variety is important. most of us eat the same foods allthe time most of those foods are unhealthy and more variety it’s kind of cliche it’soverstated all the time but it does need to be absorbed and applied is that the more varietyyou get and the variety of nutrition you’re just gonna get more variety of amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber. all these different things that come with it.all these different things. i mean water rich foods antioxidant rich foods foods that maybehave a little bit higher this or that i don’t wanna say i’m not gonna do a higher nutrientslike a higher protein kind of food cause i don't think we do or a high fat food thishas this this has that, the idea is you eat

a variety of of healthy foods. and what ilike to do not that i like to really you know isolate certain nutrients or anything likethat, but what i do like to be a little bit conscious of is the fact that for examplei said earlier there is an iceberg lettuce and there is a better option. john: right. robert: what i like to do is look at eachdifferent foods classification and look at fruits vegetables nuts grains seeds legumesand pick the ones that will give me the greatest return on investment. just as i do with exerciseif i can or if i have the knowledge i try to get the foods that have the fruits thathave the most antioxidants or the seeds that

have the best sources of omega 3s and naturalfats or the complex carbohydrates that give me the most fuel for the longest lasting timeyams potatoes oats that kind of thing. so that’s where i think variety comes in. varietyis also important in just keeping ourselves happy and excited and into different typesof foods. i mean that’s why we have seasonal foods you know. i mean cherry season lastslike what 8 days i mean you don’t have a lot of time and it’s the best tasting foodon the planet. some mango lovers or jackfruit lovers will argue but just trust me cherriesare the best and you only have but a week and a half to get them. in fact i’m flyingback to oregon any day now to get peak cherry season on the farm i grew up on. i alreadycalled my mom to check when those are available

so i’ll run back home just for the cherries. john: send me some man. robert: yeah i mean it’s that good it’sthat good. so that’s where i think the variety comes in. the nutritional variety, the overallstress of just being able to enjoy so many different things throughout the year and tojust increase your overall nutrition from that diverse selection i think that’s agood way to go. john: yeah i totally agree. eat a diversityof fresh fruits and vegetables. you could eat dark leafy greens you could eat cactusfruits one of the most anti-inflammatory fruits, high nutrient density and number 1 anti-inflammatoryfruit. it has taurine in it. really really

cool. anyways robert i wanna thank you forbeing on the show. robert:yeah thanks. john: i hope you guys wanna get this bookshred it. this is the book that i recommend if you guys wanna get into body building,if you wanna lose weight and lose fat on a plant based diet whole foods diet you knowi’ve never recommended another book before because they’re all having to do with processedisolated foods and robert has proven and shown that you can do it on a whole foods and doit better be lighter be stronger and have fun doing it with a variety of plant basedfoods. so you could also be as healthy as you can cause there are big problems withhaving too much of any kind of protein including

animal protein and yes even plant proteinyou can over do as we talked about earlier off camera. so robert if somebody wants toget your book shred it how can they do that and how can they contact you for more information? robert: thanks john. thanks for the opportunityand for the endorsement. shred it is on veganbodybuilding.com. there’s a few other websites as well butthat’s the main place we get it and i like to sign a lot of books that i ship directlyand the reasons it’s so meaningful is that i spent a few years writing it i got 28 worldrenowned experts to endorse it. i mean many names you would all recognize from the topnutritional scientists in the world doctors registered dietitians, i mean yeah you getthe campbell and esselstyn and all those guys

on there and that meant a lot to me. thathad not just my 20 years as a plant based athlete vegan athlete and my 3 years as awhole food plant based athlete but these top doctors and scientists and experts and authorsand athletes from the nfl to the nhl said yeah this makes sense. there’s 75 wholefood plant based recipes in there there’s meal plans. there are dozens of workouts there’sthe case studies, transformation stories. i feature about 3 dozen other successful plantbased athletes and it’s also very very motivational and inspirational and i really i really tryto teach people how to set achievable goals so that we can really go from the get go withan achievable goal deep meaning behind it work hard and then i teach people exactlyhow to burn fat exactly how to build muscle

and to achieve whatever fitness or outcomethey’re looking for. john: that’s the real power of his book.this book will tell you how to do it but robert really gets into some of the psychology orchanging your habits into making it into things you’ll do on a daily basis and be consistentabout them. that’s what i love about robert. you know that’s what i teach in my teachingsabout being consistent whether you’re gardening whether you’re eating raw plant based foodsis being consistent and even if it’s just a little consistency a little consistencyover a long way long time goes a lot farther than being consistent for a week in a bigway and then just you know blowing out. so i definitely wanna recommend this veganbodybuilding.comget to the website. hope you guys enjoyed

this episode. if you did please give me athumbs up. i’ll do more episodes with robert in the future because i’m really lovinghis ways and how he’s super strong on whole plant based foods and once again he eats lotsof fruit guys. he has one of the best foods on the plant and also has the vegetables andof course the leafy greens. don’t forget about the leafy greens. so once again my nameis john kohler with okraw.com. we’ll see you next time and remember until then keepeating your fresh fruits and vegetables. they’re always the best.

best diet for a 14 year old female

that's right kids she's back 13 year old danielle bregoli is next to come back to the dr.phil show for an update and the weather forecast is calling for a whole new meme storm so let's take a moment to look into the life of a girl who's best known for speaking like a drunk chihuahua

best diet for a 14 year old female, danielle:cash me outside how bout dah hey youtube welcome to the most amazing top 5 my name is roya ghahremani

so sit back, subscribe and let me entertain you before we begin i have a mission for you i want you to help me get this video to 400 likes i've seen you do it,i know we can do it and i also want to know how do you think danielle has changed since her last appearance let's jump into our list with the top 5 cash me outside strange facts in the number 5 spot we have her drug use danielle may only be 13 but nobody has apparently told her that the average 13 year old is addicted to sugar and tv not xanax and weed

while smoking week itself isn't exactly earth shattering let's all remind ourselves that this is a girl who's barely hit puberty how does a 13 year old even know where to get xanax? where is she getting the money? do i wanna know? doesn't she have some like tamagotchis to buy instead or something? up next in the number 4 spot is her death hoax danielle now has the grand honor of saying she can add herself to the list of celebrities who have had a death rumor spread about them

fake news site fligh high published the story where danielle was found dead in her bedroom after countless teasing from her peers lucky for our entertainment purpose, danielle did not actually kill herself she's alive and she's well and still meming it up from her live streams i mean seriously did she seem like the type to kill herself over some teasing? moving on to the number 3 spot,we have her accent when you watch the dr.phil episode you may have noticed that danielle speaks kind of like a half hick half street thug while her mother has no accent at all how did that happen exactly? well according to her mom, barbara, danielle taught herself to speak like that, learning it "from the streets"

*insert dr.phil's moan here* for what purpose exactly is unclear but we have to admit we're kind of glad she did "catch me outside how about that" just doesn't have the same ring to it next up at the number 2 spot is framing her mother if she didn't already give her mom enough trouble danielle has gone out of her way to get mom into trouble herself the girl took confectionery sugar, a straw and a razor blade, and placed it all in her mother's bathroom then, she called 911 and told them barbara was snorting heroine

whan police arrived, they took danielle into custody for framing her mom and abusing 911 but, let me tell you, that girl is not afraid of the cops at all and that wasn't her only encounter with them especially after a night of twerking on one of their vehicles finally, in the number 1 spot we have the reason she is such a disaster you really have to ask yourself how can someone so young be so screwed up? being a total geek for psychology i did a bit of digging to find out why

it turns out danielle's father left the family when she was very young and ended up having another family which left danielle with really deep seeded feelings of rejection to add to that, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer twice which introduced another abandonment threat to danielle's life to make sure she never felt this rejection and abandonment again she turned to putting up walls and pushing everyone away so that she had control over her vulnerability that catches me right in the feels

so, there you have it. the top 5 "cash me outside" strange facts my name is roya ghahremani, thanks for watching and don't forget to hit that subscribe button!

interfere in like a like a ferrari it makes sense it makes sense but this is like a soccer moms minivan this thing it's not meant to estate the cops i got when you're playing gta 5 and you're in the ups truck escaping the cops that's not realistic those things are meant to do that it is that that's like taking your grandma getting a pair of strap

strap into your grandma getting on back and be like pomegranate getting up its last doesn't work that way i think she's at least up to 3 stars solid three stars but luckily for her this is real life so there's there's no one's gonna shoot at her she's also got her up she's got her hazard lights thought very important guys if you're

nose around here what is this cop think he was gonna do like look at this point what did he think he was gonna do he was far enough away from the car there's like at least 15 feet between him and the car like a list of guys got the arm of jesus christ he's not going to throw that white strip in front of the car at this point guys she's

probably she's probably at four stars i'm not gonna lie wait you got all should i'm not just don't drive through obviously if i was never in a police chase that would be my number one thing to try is the drive through that would be that would be the best hey hey may but what's that shit it's

best crash diets uk

hi, i’m john green, this is crash courseworld history, and today we’re going to talk about the holy roman empire. which as voltaire famously pointed out, wasnot holy, or roman, or an empire. but the holy roman empire can help us understandworld history, especially during the reign of its most powerful emperor, the smart, andsensible, and hard-working charles hapsburg,

best crash diets uk, known as carlos i in spain, and charles vin the rest of europe. so, lets frame it this way. in soccer, the worldcup is like a pretty big deal, especially for me. mr green? mr green? but i’m not even good at soccer you’re actually not that bad me from the past, but the

only two things you put into your body are wendy’sand cigarette smoke. and that… it’s not great for your athletic career.in 2014, the final pitted germany against argentina and if that game had been playedin 1550, both of those teams would’ve had the same head of state.the 2010 final between spain and the netherlands, again the same head of state - charles v.unfortunately, the 1550 world cup had to be postponed until after soccer was invented. so, charles v ruled one of the biggest empiresin history, behind only chinggis khan, joseph stalin and stalin’s successors in the sovietunion. in addition to claiming to rule most of europe, during charles’ lifetime, (1500-1558), one

of his dominions, spain, laid claim to nearlyall of the new world outside of brazil. and a few of his subjects -- the miserable survivorsof the fleet of ferdinand magellan -- became the first known humans to circumnavigate theglobe. under charles, the template for the colonizationof the americas and the christianization and treatment of its indigenous people was laiddown, and charles gave his seal of approval to the jesuit order to convert asia. he underwrotethe first mission settlements to california, and began the process of turning the islandsknown as the philippines into asia’s largest spanish-speaking country.but he wasn’t just a conqueror. charles also hosted the valladolid debates, the first-knowndiscussions of universal human rights -- and

he actively sought to end slavery for many.although, not for all, and he didn’t really succeed in ending it for anyone.yet, for all that, charles v isn’t known as a giant of world history. i mean his realm, the holy roman empire, was ultimately, a failed state, and his reign a bitter disappointment, even to himself. trying to rule an empire stocked with rebellioussubjects including martin luther and with territory in two hemispheres, charles v managedto totally bankrupt his realm and that was kind of impressive.because he had access to the silver and gold of the new world, the renaissance bankingfortunes of italy and the netherlands, and the military power of spain.in short, charles v was to the holy roman

empire what screech is to the saved by the bell alumni. by the time he died, crippled with gout andmalaria at the age of 58 - wait are we still talking about screech? no, apparently we’retalking about charles v now. anyway, the holy roman empire was defaultingon massive debts to its creditors. so among historians, the debate over whethercharles could have been a successful emperor tends to break into two schools of thought.one argues that the holy roman empire was doomed to fail largely because it lacked thenationalism that powered the rising nation-states like france and england.but voltaire was probably right, that the holy roman empire was doomed from birth. overit’s 1004-year-history, the holy roman empire

never had the means of levying direct taxes,or directly raising an army from its territory, which nearly always included what are todayeastern france, luxembourg, germany, austria, the italian peninsula, and czechoslovakia, and at times stretched to the netherlands, and belgium, hungary, croatia, poland, andwestern ukraine. governing such a vast area is almost impossible, especially when you have to have like you know people on horses to deliver messages.these days, even with the internet, governing europe isn’t that easy - ask the europeanparliamentg how it’s going. so the hre began in 800 ce as a marriage betweenthe germanic warlord, charlemagne, and the only sort of warlord-y popes in rome.after the collapse of the western roman empire

western christendom was basically a flockof rural warriors who reveled in trials by combat, christian conversion through combat, and, just generally combat. and charlemagne shrewdly recognized that thechurch’s mainly literate hierarchy and command of tradition were his best possible instrumentsfor governing his battle loving feudal lords. so charlemagne and pope leo iii struck a deal;leo would bestow upon charlemagne the authority and tradition of the caesars, while charlemagneacknowledged the church’s spiritual superiority over his secular power.and the name for the agreement reflected the terms of the deal. holy, because the churchwanted top billing, roman, to give charlemagne maximum prestige among his feudal subjects, and empire, because they wanted it to be an

empire.here’s a lesson in romance from history: marriages of convenience…. meh?so the relationship between the popes and the emperors grew a bit rocky over time. inthe centuries after charlemagne, one european warrior clan, the house of hapsburg foughtto claim the emperor’s throne, and to establish dominance over the papacy.and one of the tactics used by the hapsburgs was to promote dynastic marriages betweenhapsburg cousins, thus keeping inheritances within the family and out of the hands ofthe church. this hapsburg in-breeding worked politically, but, over centuries, it brought out recessive family genes for mental illness and -- mostfamously -- these oversized lower jaws that

became europe’s most-recognizable profile.in short, in-breeding - great way to keep money in the family, maybe not the best wayto keep a++ kings in the family. the papacy fought back and in 1356,the positionof holy roman emperor was turned into an elected position. candidates for the crown henceforthneeded to win support from at least four of seven “electors.”now this didn’t prevent the hapsburgs from reclaiming the throne, but it did force thefamily to pay fortunes in bribes and favors to win it, because as always, money wins elections.charles was no exception and the bribes he paid to secure the his position as emperorin 1521 meant that he started off his rule in debt - which is never a great idea.but wait, you say, now that he is emperor

he can just tap into a loyal group of subjects, who will be more than happy to pay tax increases in order to pay off charles’ debt.but yeah, that’s not how the holy roman empire worked. all right, let’s get to knowthis emperor in the thought bubble charles’s parents came from two ambitiousdynasties. his mother, juana, was the daughter of ferdinand and isabella, whom you’ve probablyheard of. and from juana, charles laid claim not only to spain but to parts of italy, includingnaples and sicily, as well as what became known as the americas. charles’s fatherwas the duke of burgundy, phillip the fair. and through philip, charles could claim the germanlands of the holy roman emperor, maximilian i, phillip’s father.so charles’s existence was pretty much a

genetic engineering job designed to producea ruler of spain and germany. only, charles was neither spanish nor german himself. hegrew up in belgium, in the dukedom of burgundy, which technically made him a french subject.and ruling over so many disparate people was a recipe for trouble. like, german peasantsin frisia had revolted against the empire in 1515, but they weren’t nearly as troublesomeas the germans living in towns. by the time charles bought his throne in 1521, germanmerchants had come to think of themselves as being guaranteed the rights to speak ina parliament, to have a say in their taxes and even to form their own militias.protestantism was also a big headache for charles, especially when luther and his followersclaimed that they followed their consciences

in matters of religion rather than the emperor’swill. charles thought that he solved this problem when he faced luther at the diet ofworms in 1523, but that didn’t work out quite as planned.thanks, thought bubble. so, at the diet of worms luther was so compelling when talkingabout his faith that he became more popular - not less.and shortly thereafter he began his famous german translation of the bible.so obviously, governing most of europe was just a tremendous difficulty for charles v,but he also had to be the ruler of all of the americas except for brazil.i can’t help but notice, stan, that brazil is always the exception in the americas.

and with the spanish conquistadors subjugation of the the american indians by the late 1530s,charles’s life got even worse or arguably better.because he was richer and had more subjects which is the point of being an emperor i guess.so unlike most of the spaniards in spain’s colonies, charles actually showed some concernfor his native subjects, but he couldn’t really do much.like in 1520, after receiving a steady stream of complaints about how the native peoplewere being abused, charles banned the granting of new encomiendas and ordered his officialsto phase out the old ones. and this worked … not at all. hernan cortesand other leading conquistadors completely

ignored charles orders and just kept dolingout encomiendas. and then charles sent new orders saying thatthe indians are “to live in liberty, as our vassals in castile live...if you havegiven any indians in encomienda to any christians you will remove them.”cortes responded, “the majority of the spaniards who come here are of low quality, violent, and vicious.” well, i guess he was self-aware. anyway, hisresponse amounted to - we could only get spanish people to come here if they have the rightto exploit other humans. and then in 1526, charles gave in and allowedcortes, and, later, pizarro, to issue temporary encomiendas to their men.now so far, charles isn’t looking so good

in this story, so it might be useful to comparehis record to those of his contemporaries, who, in theory, ruled more coherent and governablestates. and it just so happens that charles reignedat the same time as two of europe’s most notable proto-nationalistic leaders, england’shenry viii and france’s francis i of france. the bitterest rivalry was between francisand charles, because francis believed that charles, as the duke of burgundy, which isin france, was his subject. charles, meanwhile, knew that francis hadattempted to win the title of holy roman emperor himself, and had warned the electors thatcharles was an unfit and despotic man. if we could just stop for a moment. why onearth would anyone fight to become the holy

roman emperor.the two monarchs fought four separate wars against each other. and according to proponentsof nationalism, francis should have had the advantage, right. because he had unchallengedpower of taxation in france, and a religious class that was loyal to him, and a population,or at least an elite, that all spoke french. but charles’s troops won every war. notonly that, in the course of the wars charles’ troops managed to take francis himself hostageat the siege of pavia, and sack rome in 1527, ending the pope’s hope of becoming a realplayer in secular politics, and, according to some scholars, ending the italian renaissance.charles also fought a war against suleiman and the ottomans, defeating them at vienna, although he wasn’t able to stop suleiman

from consolidating his control over the formerlyhabsburg territory of hungary. but despite ruling this fractious, polyglotempire rather than a compact national state, charles did okay for himself.well at least by some measures - by other measure he was a total failure. oh, it’stime for the open letter. but first, let’s see what’s in the globetoday. oh, it’s all of my past romantic relationships. an open letter to failure.dear failure, you’re so often in the eyes of the beholder, like what looks like failureat one point in your life can later look like a wonderful success. i meancharles v had a lot of successes but ultimately he viewed his reign as a terrible failure.that’s why he eventually abdicated and retired

to a life of full time beer-drinking.and then he split up his empire with his brother getting the holy roman empire and his songetting spain. and that was probably marginally at leasta good thing for both the holy roman empire and spain.in short, failure almost no person is merely a failure or even merely a success.so enough with all these falsely constructed dichotomies failure, they are complete failure.best wishes, john green. so, the story of charles v reminds us of somethingwe learn again and again when studying world history: that there are multiple sides toevery piece of history. yes, the holy roman empire under charles vceased to be holy in the sense that it was

no longer 100% catholic, it was never romansince latin wasn’t among the many languages spoken there…and it wasn’t much of an empire because it was too diverse and spread out for charlesreally to have the power of an emperor. but as with most history, and many facebookrelationship statuses, and one meryl streep movie - it’s complicated.but perhaps the one concrete lesson we can take away from the history of charles v isthe benefits of acknowledging the limits of one’s power. charles never did.his imperial motto was plus ultra. and that means “further beyond,” but it could alsomean limitless. charles sought to fuse atlantic and central europe into seamless whole ona scale the size of today’s european union.
