what is a good diet for 14 year olds

what is a good diet for 14 year olds

in the mid-1970’s, erno rubik invented therubik’s cube. but that doesn’t mean knew how to solve it. it took him a few moths to figureit out. by the time the first world rubik’s cubechampionships were held in 1982, the winner -- he could solve the cube in alittle less than 23 seconds. and these days?[news montage of collin’s record]

what is a good diet for 14 year olds, this is world record holder collin burns, andtoday, we find out how he did it. [titles] “it could last another day; it could lastanother few years. the previous record lasted for just over 2 years. but with single solve, especially, you just need to get lucky. or

at least that’s a big part of it.” collin tends to downplay his skills but it’sworth noting there are two types of world records.the way speedcubing competitions work is that volunteers scramble the cubes according toinstructions that are generated by a computer, so competitors all get the same scramble. they do 5 solves and their three middle scoresare averaged. so collin holds the world record for a singlesolve. but the world record for an average scoreis held by a 19-year-old in australia. still, collin’s record is a huge deal. atthe competition where we met up with him,

kids were asking him for his autograph. he’s now being sponsored by a cube companyand by a cube retailer, which are paying for him to travel internationally. and he wantspeople to know, you could do this too. “the biggest misconception about cubingis that it’s difficult, which it really isn’t.”pop culture treats the rubik’s cube like some sort of iq test, but it’s not. at leastnot anymore. “generally average is much more impressivebecause you have to be consistently fast.” other kids were asking him for autographs.“are you that famous cube guy?” i recently bought a cube online and it camewith instructions for beginners. and if you

memorize those, you can solve the cube ina couple minutes. it helps to understand the design of the puzzle.at first glance, it looks like a cube made out of cubes — right, three layers of nine. but if you look closer, you’ll see therearen’t actually any cubes here. so that tells you that the corners will always becorners, the edges will always be edges, and the middle pieces determine the color of thatface. speedcubers will buy special cubes. they canlubricate them and adjust the tension. but the real key to their speed is efficiency- they’re looking several moves ahead, and they use fewer moves to get the same result.

so there are 43 quintillion possible arrangementsfor the cube. a few years back, some researchers borrowedcomputing power from google to find out that any scramble can be solved in 20 moves orless. they call it god’s number. but humans just aren’t that good. the beginners’ method that i learned uses100 to 200 moves. speedcubers use more around 50 to 60 moves.and they can do that, in part, because of the knowledge gained by the previous generationof speedcubers. when the cube first spread around the worldback in the 80s, people had to learn through trial and error.

this was happening in a lot of math departmentsand campus clubs. people were discovering the cube at the same time, and they were sharingwhat they learned. the method collin uses was developed by jessicafridrich, an engineering professor who was a college student at the time. it starts with a cross on one of the faces.and that face becomes the bottom layer. then what they do is solve the corners of the bottomlayer and the middle layer simultaneously. “so, now you can see that all of this issolved.” and for the final layer, they’re choosingfrom dozens of algorithms that they’ve memorized. and those are sequences of moves that messup the cube temporarily to move certain pieces

into place. and then put the rest of the cubeback where it was. the rubik’s cube has made a comeback inrecent years along with that same ethic of sharing tips and strategies. so all the resources you need are there, there’sjust one other thing. practice! this is collin nearly 5 years ago. world recordsare not built in a day.

what are fad diets list three

what are fad diets list three

maybe this has happened to you: you invite a friend out to lunch, becausefrankly it’s been too long since you had a decent burrito, but they politely decline-- they say they’re on a cleanse. turns out they are consuming nothing but juicefor the next three days, because they want to give their digestive system a kind of hardreset.

what are fad diets list three, there are even juice cleanse or juice fastprograms out there, the basic idea is you pay a certain amount per day -- like sixtybucks -- and you’re provided with a set of juices to drink in a particular order. for the next few days -- usually 3, but sometimesup to 10 -- you eat no solid food. it’s

all juice, all the time, though the programsalso encourage you to drink water. if you’re lucky, you’re getting about 1200 caloriesa day -- and with some programs, much less than that. some people also choose to supplement theirfasts with laxatives and colonics, basically enemas. different programs promise different benefits, but most claim the same basic thing: that a cleanse will clear out your toxins and “reset”your digestive system. they’re also often considered a quick way to lose weight. except, none of these things are actuallybased on science.

so, let’s explore how juice cleanses supposedlywork, and compare that with we know about the human body. it’s rare to find a juice fast program thatexplains what they mean by toxins, or specifies what any of them are. but the generally accepteddefinition of toxin is that it’s a kind of poison produced biologically. and your body does produce harmful byproducts, like the ammonia that ends up in your urine. but that’s the thing -- it ends up in yoururine, because it’s filtered out, first by your liver and eventually your kidneys.your body has built-in mechanisms to get rid of the bad stuff.

drinking juice for a few days isn’t goingto make your liver or kidneys suddenly go into overdrive and clear out anything leftover. those organs are supposed to be constantlyworking -- if they aren’t, that’s what we call liver or kidney failure. these programs also tend to present anotherimage: that there’s all this extra gunk stuck to the sides of your intestines, andthe best way to get rid of it is to give yourself diarrhea for a few days, and then maybe finishthat off by flushing everything with water. but the human plumbing system doesn’t worklike the one you find in an old house. instead, waste is constantly moving througha healthy digestive system. there’s nothing

that’s still hanging out in your intestinesfrom that time you ate a handful of watermelon seeds when you were five, or even that doublecheeseburger you had last month. food normally takes 24-72 hours to be completelydigested, depending on what it’s made of and how often you have bowel movements. your body absorbs whatever it can, and therest comes out. it doesn’t get stuck to the walls along the way. but what about the weight loss? some of these programs do claim to help youlose weight. others emphasize that a cleanse should be for your health, not for weightloss, but also say that cleansing will do

things like “put you on a path to healthierhabits.” and people who do juice fasts do almost alwayslose weight, but most of it is in the form of water weight. but despite what it sounds like, this waterweight isn’t just the weight you lose from peeing out a bunch of water -- it actuallycomes from glycogen in your muscles glycogen is a form of stored sugar that yourbody uses when it’s running low on energy -- like when it’s getting way fewer caloriesthan usual, all in the form of juice. as soon as you start eating normally again, your body will replace those glycogen stores and you’ll bounce right back to whereveryou were.

on the other hand, for most healthy people,a juice fast probably won’t hurt them. they almost certainly won’t be getting all thecalories and nutrients they need, but most of these programs aren’t long enough todo lasting damage. so, if your friend wants to drink nothingbut juice for a few days, odds are they’ll be fine. but they aren’t detoxifying theirbody or rebooting their metabolism. they’re just … drinking a lot of usually very expensivejuice. thanks for watching this episode of scishow, which was brought to you by our patrons on patreon. if you want to help support thisshow, just go to patreon.com/scishow. and if you want to keep getting smarter with us,you can go to youtube.com/scishow and subscribe!

what are easy diets that work

what are easy diets that work

hello and welcome to the really simple guideto the fast two-day 5:2 diet plan. are you interested in an effective diet planthat will help you lose weight and improve your health, whilst still allowing you toeat all of the foods that you love? what about a diet plan when you only needto focus your effort twice a week, leaving you relaxed and free to eat well for fivedays out of seven?

what are easy diets that work, the 5:2 diet plan is an extremely popularway to both lose weight and improve your overall health. it is a plan that is:* easy to understand * easy to adapt to your own lifestyle* easy to stick with.

the 5:2 diet plan works as, within a weekas a whole, you consume fewer calories than your body needs to maintain your current weight. the plan is so simple its almost an oxymoronto actually call it a plan, but heres the 3 steps to what you need to do:for step 1, each week choose which 2 separate days are going to be your diet days. a diet day is 24 hours long and canstart at any point in the day to suit your schedule. in step 2, on your diet day, make sure thatyou only eat 500 calories as a women or 600 calories if youre a man.

this needs to cover everything you eat anddrink in that 24 hour period. in step 3, for the remaining five days, eatnormally and mainly healthily (but treats are allowed)! just remember that the two diet days are thereto create a weekly calorie deficit which leads to weight-loss, so make sure dont treatthem as a license to binge on the non-diet days. the 5 2 diet is a very convenient and practicaldiet plan to follow even if you normally struggle to incorporate dieting into your lifestyle, for example if perhaps because you work shifts, or like me have to travel and stay away onbusiness.

so, you can vary the two days that you dietto suit your schedule in any given week. you can eat out, socialise, visit with friendsand family all without having to worry about what to eat. if you work shifts, you can start your dietday a whatever point in the day or night you like, and then follow it for 24 hours. often we can eat for emotional reasons, ifyou are having a bad or stressful day thats making you struggle, just swap your diet dayin that week. you may be wondering if this is a fad dietand is it actually a healthy one? in fact, there have been several scientificresearch studies which have found that there

can be wider health benefits to be gainedfrom a healthy eating plan that incorporates intermittent fasting, which is what you areactually doing on your diet days. studies have found a correlation between intermittentfasting and lowered blood pressure, lowered cholesterol levels and improvements in insulinsensitivity. nevertheless, you should always consult yourdoctor before commencing any new diet or exercise regime and that includes this plan. in particular, fasting is not suitable foreveryone so the 5:2 diet plan is not suitable for some people, and particularly it is notappropriate for: * anyone who is pregnant, planning a pregnancyor breast-feeding

* anyone with a major health condition suchas diabetes or irritable bowel syndrome * anyone who has had an eating disorder. but the $64,000 question is will i lose weight? earlier i covered how the 5 2 diet plan createsa weekly calorie deficit as long as you dont treat it as a license to binge on the non-dietdays. its this which leads to weight loss. research has found the 5:2 diet can be aseffective at losing weight and improving insulin sensitivity as following a daily calorie-controlleddiet. you can reasonably expect to lose 1-2lbs or0.5-1kg per week.

so if you like the sound of this diet andthink it would suit you but you want to learn more, especially about what you can actuallyeat on your diet days, you may want to grab a copy of my two-day 5:2 diet plan low caloriemeals cookbook. it includes over 40 filling and satisfyingbut low calorie meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner on diet days. it also includes a full guide to the dietplan and there are plenty of tips for success including example meal plans that will helpkeep hunger and boredom at bay. available as a paperback or kindle book fromamazon, or as an ebook from ibooks, nook or kobo, youll find links in the box belowplus a link to my video that shows an example

of what exactly you can eat on a 500 calorieday. i hope you have found this useful, pleasegive it a thumbs up if you have and bye for now!

gets swallowed and becomes trapped in theintestine. if not treated, it can be life threatening. source: huffington post 8. red bull diet in 2009 a mother from new zealand lost 45kgin 8 months by drinking nothing but 10-14 cans of red bull a day. the only solid food she consumed was a dailyhandful of dry honey puffs. after losing almost half of her body weight, she was forced to the end the diet after it triggered a heart attack.

stopping the diet caused her to experienceextreme caffeine withdrawals and she now suffers from lifelong health issues, such as a heartmurmur and severe stomach cramps. source: new zealand herald 7. sleeping beauty diet this diet became particularly popular in the1970s when elvis presley adopted it after finding it difficult to fit into his trademarkjumpsuits. the diet involves taking pills that put thebody under heavy sedation for several days. essentially a form of starvation, the bodyis forced to burn calories it has stored up, because no food is being digested to replenishnutrient levels.

dieters experience extreme malnutrition andoften become addicted to the sedatives. source: cnn 6. ear stapling diet the ear stapling diet involves surgicallyattaching small staples into the inner cartilage of each ear for several months. dieters claim that the staples stimulate apressure point that controls appetite and reduces sugar cravings, thus burning fat. however, there is no scientific data to provethat it works, and most research states that it is merely the placebo effect that leadsto weight loss.

this procedure has health risks and has beenknown to cause severe infection and permanent disfigurement to the ear. 5. baby food diet celebrity fitness trainer tracy anderson establishedthe baby food diet, which involves replacing 3 regular meals with 14 pots of baby foodeach day. after actress jennifer aniston was reportedto have lost 3kgs on the diet, the weight loss technique became widely popular. it supposedly cuts calorie intake and encouragesfood portion control, allowing dieters to shed weight quickly.

the diet can often backfire, however. babyfood lacks the protein that adults require and consumption can thus slow down metabolicrate. 4. the cigarette diet in the 1930s major tobacco company lucky strikecigarettes ran advertisements claiming that smoking would cause weight loss, exploitingnicotine’s potential to reduce appetite. slogans claimed that ‘instead of eatingbetween meals, beautiful women keep youthful slenderness by smoking luckies cigarettes’. the campaign became pivotal in the growthof the female smoking market, boosting sales by over 200%. however, unsurprisingly, iteventually led to higher rates of lung cancer

in 2014 a teenage girl from florida was foundwith dozens of tapeworms inside her intestines, after her mother secretly fed her the pillsto make her thinner for an upcoming beauty pageant. 2. hcg diet injecting a hormone found in the urine ofpregnant women supposedly accelerates weight loss. the hormone, known as hcg, is injected intodieters once a day, and combined with a 500-calorie-a-day diet. the hormone supposedly tricks the body intothinking it is pregnant, burning off fat and

converting it into energy intended for botha mother and fetus. there is no scientific evidence to prove this, however, and research has showed that weight loss occurs purely from the severe calorierestriction, rather than the presence of hcg. sources: huffington post, complete healing 1. feeding tube diet most popular with brides-to-be, the feedingtube diet promises to shed 9kg in just 10 days. as part of the diet, a feeding tube is insertedthrough the nose and down into the stomach, which then slowly drip-feeds a liquid solutionof protein and vitamins 24 hours a day.

very low calorie diets pros and cons

very low calorie diets pros and cons

hi, its p to the ether, peter - the bean eater and today were going to go over my daily bean routine we are gonna grab 500-600 grams of dry beans and first few times you probably want to use scale so we go to the bean container and that will do

very low calorie diets pros and cons, we add cold water and we leave them for 10 hours or so just don't leave them for too long because beans will get bored and trust me. you don't want to see bored beans

and now we ask our beans if they want to be cooked or pressure cooked? so beans how it will be? i didn't hear it... ohh, they want to feel the pressure now so let's take em out and pour the water out i'll drop them into the pressure cooker and add fresh water

and we can put the cover on close it up its locked and loadedand we are ready to turn the heat up the pressure finished building up so i lowered the power to 4 and we count 10 minutes from now its time! the beans are ready now i turned off the power and usually i add oil to the water but this time we will try the cold release method instead of quick release

the way it works is we just pour cold water over the pressure cooker and you can see that the pressure indicator is dropping down and once it chills we will try to release some steam using the release button and then it will be open-able actually its open-able already now we just need to take the beans out and i usually pour cold water over the beans

to remove any foam and reduce the temperature after that we will leave them to dry later on put them into the refrigerator navy beans are clean beans there is almost nothing to clean under the cover so you can just quickly wash it off with water poured on top and bottom and you are ready to go for the next day beans are dry and have room temperature now

i'll put some into the dinner box and remaining ones will go to the breakfast + lunch the beans are ready to go to sleep now i already told them a story and gave "sleep well" kisses so lets just close them and i'll put them into the fridge. they will wait for us until tomorrow morning in the morning we take the beans out

so that they warm up before we eat them it's time for the breakfast so let's try some of our beans one should be enough for the breakfast we pray to it and we eat it you may be thinking "wait a minute! but where is bread and butter?" this guy is only eating beans so we will add something special

these are jelly-not-a-beans (not jelly beans) and in poland white and red are patriotic colors that would do for the breakfast carbohydrates and protein are no enough. you also need fat in your diet i eat canola oil to satisfy dietary adequate intake of sodium and chloride i am usually adding table salt as most of the days i don't have sodium and chloride in other ingredients / pieces of food i am consuming i'll just spread it across the lunch box

i already shaken the box a little bit if you add the salt in the morning and let the beans sit with it for few hours you will no longer feel salty taste, which helps me because i don't like salty i usually eat sweet breakfast and sweet dinner and have the salt only in lunch box but you can distribute however you feel is appropriate for the lunch we eat whatever we haven't eaten for the breakfast, second breakfast or third breakfast... possibly here we have some navy beans some more navy beans this time with mayonnaise i bought mayonnaise to remove glue from stickers

since i had left overs i decided to eat them navy beans with bilberries i have been experimenting with different types of beans before i found my favorite - navy beans so here we have chickpeas, amarantus green beans lentils including sprouted you can also include meat, fish or whatever else you want to eat that day this is bean burger with extrathick layer of beans here are some photos of bean burger

let me know in comments if you want to see a video "how to make a bean burger" i have eaten all my breakfast+lunch box so lets pick up the dinner it will warm up and we will eat it in few hours if you feel like you wanna eat something sweet you can try beans with maple syrup or you can try other crazy ideas like beans with cotton candy or continue fun with jellys here we have bears holding bean beans holding bear

and here is just regular beans with algi lets see whats inside oh my god its beans! that's so cool navy beans are rich in nutrients here is a spreadsheet that i'm using to check if my diet is balanced first i calculated how much calories do i need daily based on my age weight and gender it's around 2,400 at the moment and based on the same factors i calculated the minimum and maximum values for each dietary component

all the information is publicly available and backed by research papers you don't need to be nutritionist to make your own diet browser based self paced study is good enough here we have five ingredients these are core for my diet they have the most significant impact on calories and nutrition values i often eat things that are not on the list then i have to eat respectively lessfrom my main list so for example if i ate wheat bread i would eat less beans and salt to make it even

let's go over the 5 ingredients list first we have water i took the data from my local water supplier website they have published measured vitamin and mineral values for raba watter intake which is going to my tap water don't drink bottled water as consuming bpa and pet from plastic is not healthy bottled water also contains more bacteria and pollutes the environment my water is mostly containing calcium but not much you should be drinking 3.7 liters of water daily next on the list we have navy beans they have high protein values, low unhealthy fat, some healthy fat

they are rich in vitamins and minerals and they are local food for me. unless i want to eat something else i’ll max these out. third on the list is canola oil that’s the healthiest type of oil i can buy locally without the risk of getting low quality imitation. it has 2:1 ratio of ï‰-6 to ï‰-3 acids. very low saturated fats. a little bit of vitamin e and vitamin k fourth on the list is multivitamin instead you can add carrots, lettuce and other vegetables or fruits to fill the vitamin gaps multivitamin is not the healthiest source but it’s simple, cheap and good enough for the purpose of this video.

the last ingredient - just 4 grams of table salt you can measure the weight of 10 spoons of salt to see how much one spoon contains most of the nutrition values i have here i have taken from usda website we can take a look at usda source information for for example navy beans this is an example report it shows how much carbohydrates, protein, fats, minerals and vitamins beans have. i have been cross checking this with other sources as i found one report showing incorrect data another interesting piece of information that i have in this sheet is price of each ingredient one may think that is too expensive to eat healthy food

actually it costs less that $1 per day for an adult to be fed in a healthy manner here we have price for the water per ton price of beans per kilogram from that you can calculate how much does it cost daily based on how much you specified in amount column this 2.40 pln is for 600g of dry beans in total it sums up to 91 pln which is around $24 usd that basically makes your whole month food just for $24

it has all the nutrition you need now we can go over the columns that we have here so let's jump to the beginning amounts are mostly in grams water is in liters and multivitamin is one piece carbohydrates are main source of energy. try to maximize the dietary fiber and minimize the sugar intake protein make sure that your diet contains all required amino acids as human body is not able to synthesize them

also there is a minimum requirement on protein in general for the muscle building in fats try to avoid saturated fats and cholesterol, as human body can synthesize both of them and it’s easy to exceed the upper intake limit. you should also be careful about the ï‰-6 linolenic acid you shouldn't consume more than 3 times the ï‰-3 amount currently i have 6 grams of ï‰-3 in my diet and i shouldn't eat more than 18 grams of ï‰-6 also the general fat values for adequate and upper intake here were calculated based on 15% to 30% total energy so these are calculated based on my 2400 calories daily requirement

minerals sodium and chloride have the most restrictive range of acceptable adequate and upper intake you should be careful about how much salt are you consuming upper intake limit values that are 999s are just one that were there were no recorded side effects of consuming significantly more than the average while eating beans watch out for manganese as you can exceed the upper intake limit beans have most of required minerals except sodium and chloride. i don’t have the data for iodine, chromium, molybdenum and biotin. vitamin d you can get from direct sun exposure

twice a week 30 minutes would be enough all the other vitamins should be part of your diet we can try replacing the multivitamin with natural sources let's try that, let's put 50 grams here and state we are spending 60 minutes on sun we will add 400 grams of tomatoes you can see that vitamin bar is looking better now we still have some gaps but it is managable vitamin b12 you can find in a meat

if you are vegetarian you probably will have harder times finding natural sources of b12 you could include both the multivitamin and natural sources of vitamins in your diet as in most of the cases you wont overdose anything you would not need to worry about the off season vegetables that does not have as much vitamins as you think they have we can also try wheat bread based diet first we need to remove these values so let's say we don't want to eat beans instead we add equivalent amount of wheat bread you can see that total calories are the same

but we have a problem with overdosing sodium, niacin and the manganeese even removing table salt is not helping much maybe we could try less processed ingredient like flour whole grain wheat flour is pretty healthy still we would have similar problems we need to put 580 here the calories matches its around 2400 again but same: niacin, manganese and ï‰-6 to ï‰-3 is in unhealthy ratio

so let's just stick to the beans as our 5 core ingredients that will be our diet bean diet has following benefits few simple ingredients makes it easy to learn and know what you eat most people don't know - just consume what's being served or wrapped in plastic and sit for 2 weeks on a shop shelf. i don't blame them, as it takes time to do a full nutrition facts research on each product during throughout evaluation you find substances you don't know and then check if they are harmful or have upper intake limits if you base your diet on something you feel comfortable with you will avoid diseases caused by food obtained from wild grocery shopping.

connected to that bean diet is high in nutrients, low artificial, low processed food. no more hidden sodium, fats or sugars. do you know how much salt was in your breakfast today? if you like rice, check its nutrition values and go for it. try different types of rice. i did the research with beans and it fits me the best. my mind is aligned with my body and both say yeaaah. taste is subjective so its easy to say navy beans have the best taste in the world.

beans are friendly to our environment they don't hurt animals minimum water, energy consumption, low gasoline requirement. the beans travel directly from the farmer to wholesaler and then from wholesaler to you no processing or manufacturing is required. ill throw away a plastic bag from salt once a year once a month ill throw away plastic bottle from canola oil every two weeks ill throw away plastic bag from 5kg bean pack i don’t even need a trash bin in my house.

bean diet can save you time it takes 1 minute for the morning watering 1 minute before boiling 10 minutes of being around, waiting for the timer to ring 2 minutes to get the beans out and put aside to chill 2 minutes of cleaning 1 minute of distributing chilled beans to containers and adding other ingredients sums up to lucky 7 minutes for food related activities thats comparable to ordering a pizza, paying, and throwing away the pizza box after eating

grocery shopping can take an hour or more and you don’t have to do it at all. beans are always fresh you can buy 15kg of dry beans. they will serve you for a month. everyday you water fresh portion and eat within 24 hours of initial processing in your home. bean diet helps getting fit i wanted to make my rectus abdominus muscle visible, but not like these guys after 2 months i see 6 out of 8

let me know if you want to see a video once i have visible 8. easing same food over and over again increases the risk that you will be missing something in your balanced diet. you can base on most recent laboratory data or even test food sample yourself but it may be the case that in few years the testing methodology will be revealed to have significant flaw and produce inaccurate results. it's the same as eating bread, pasta, potatoes or eating rice with chicken for 20 years in a row. putting all eggs in one basket is high risk, high reward your health or life is at stake.you dont have to risk. you can diversify your diet and include various vegetables, fruits and even processed food if you wish. the sweet taste comes at a price.

diabetic diet should be high in dietary fiber and low in sugar navy beans have both of these high so you may try some other beans or something else if you plan to intake sugar from other sources as well. this one is related to monotony. you are right, eating locally grown food is not exotic. personally i don’t care how the food look like - i value nutrition and taste over visual details. that said, there are plenty of ways you can make beans looks special for you and people eating food you prepared. you can see some of them in first 10 minutes of this video. beans makes you fart

according to common believe. i have been eating beans for 2 months and i didn’t blow up yet. but i am sure you would love to see me releasing the pressure today is the day of quick release method you have seen some pros and cons but what is the beans' future? as long as i am uploading videos i am still living and eating beans. i have been trying to sneak a joke here and there to make it interesting but the truth is this is a serious matter the beans are going to rule the world.

you can realize that now or once everyone else did. don’t wait! join the revolution today!

alright this is john kohler from okraw.comto give another exciting episode for you coming at you from my backyard garden. i thoughti’d take time out of the day here to share with you guys some of my opinions on a veryimportant topic that’s important to me. this is my ten reasons why i don’t eat meat.before you think any further, before you think about turning this video off, all i’m gonnasay is this. these are my reasons for not

unhealthy fad diets list, eating meat. i’m not trying to force youor coerce you or make you think you need to not eat meat like i do. i’m just sharingmy opinions and my research with you guys to help you guys out because i do recommendthat, especially my family, minimise or eliminate their meat consumption because it’s notthe best for health. we are all adults here,

unless you’re under eighteen then you’renot an adult, everybody gets to make up their own mind. i personally don’t mind if peoplewanna consume meat, if they wanna raise their own pigs or sheep or cows and kill them toeat them. i’m not here to judge anybody and by all means, i like to teach one of myprincipals is good, better, best, by all means raising your own animals, slaughtering them, killing them yourself and eating them is far better than getting the crap out of the grocerystore. before i get into actually sharing my ten reasons on why i don’t eat meat what’sreally important for me to share is all the ten reasons that i will be sharing with youguys today, there are numerous documented scientific journal published studies, youknow, collaborating, my opinions on this subject.

i know people are gonna say… you could pickapart any topic and a human, we could justify doing anything, we could justify raping somebody, you know “she was dressed in a slinky dress, that’s why i raped her” you could justifyanything, doesn’t mean its right. i’m saying that based on my research eating animalsis not the healthiest. on the flipside, if you wanna look and you could find documentedpublished studies on why eating meat is good and beneficial, the thing i would say is youwanna look at who funded those studies number one. the other thing is you will not see studiesin droves, you’ll not find numerous studies pointing to the same conclusion. you may finda handful or one or two that say meat eating shows no difference or whatever but there’san overwhelming majority of studies and things

that are published scientifically that showmeat eating and other animal products are not so good for us. what i’m gonna do inthis video is actually post down below so look in the notes or the comments of thisvideo, my description and actually i’ll have links to some of the different scientificstudies that i’m referencing to make this video. i know a lot of you guys don’t knowme from adam you might have just turned this video on but basically i had to make radicaldietary changes to save my life. i was hospitalised, the doctors said i might not make it out aliveand i needed to do drastic things to be here today and share this with you guys so i’mgrateful for that. one of the things, one of the many things i did was stop eating meat.i believe that if i was still eating meat

i would definitely not be as healthy as iam today and the reason why i know this is my brother is two years younger than me, hestill eats junk foods, processed foods and animal foods and he’s having a lot of healthchallenges right now, inflammation, aches and pains, he’s clinically obese my sameheight but he weighs like forty pounds more than me, really not a good thing so i knowwhat would’ve happened to me if i didn’t go the way that i did. let’s get into thetop reasons why i don’t eat meat. the first reason why i don’t eat meat is because numerousstudies, and i’ve just a handful linked down below, say it’ll increase the possibilityof disease and increase your mortality. they did over half a million people studied andthose with higher levels of meat consumption

lived less, not as long. i don’t know aboutyou but i wanna have fun and live a super long time and by kicking the meat habit youwill live longer provided you do other healthy things in life. other diseases such as cancer, heart disease, cataracts, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, i could probably sit hereforever, list documented scientific studies that have been implicated that levels go upwhen there is meat and other animal products involved, this video mainly concerned withthe meat. if you wanna learn more about this, i’m gonna stop talking about it, you cancheck some of the links down below. the second reason why i don’t eat meat is because itages you prematurely. just like i said you’ll have a shorter life if you eat meat it agesyou prematurely so you’re gonna look old

and haggard and jacked up before your days.generally people say i tend to look about ten years younger than i actually am whichi think is probably about legitimate and my brother who is two years younger than me heabout looks his age. he’s a bit bigger, i’m still fit, still trim i have boundlessenergy to do whatever i want to do. i believe this is one of my many secrets to anti-ageingand especially when you get older you’re really concerned about looking good and stayinghealthy longer. meat has been implicated in different disease conditions, it can causeskin wrinkles, due to the ages, advanced glycation end products, that aren’t even fully brokendown by us, that can cause free radical damage. in addition, iron is actually well absorbedby meat and that’s why they say you should

eat meat but the problem is it just keepsgetting absorbed so you could have too much iron and when you have too much iron it causesexcess oxidation and what is oxidation, well to me oxidation is just simply ageing. ifwe look on the flip side if we look at a diet rich in colourful fruits and vegetables there’sstudies that show it makes you look more attractive and in my opinion younger than people noteating them. also there’s things in the meat that actually are obeseogens that actuallycause you to gain wait in the stomach area. the final thing about meat is that kids thesedays, i remember when i was going to school girls didn’t get their breasts until theywere like maybe 17 but now kids are developing at like 10,11,12,13. i mean i heard on thenews the other day there’s some 12 year

old kid that got pregnant. this is insaneand this is because in my opinion partly due to the poor diets and the meat that is beingconsumed and there’s a study that i’ll link down below that show premature ageingbecause of meat consumption and animal consumption. furthermore meat accelerates your ageing,i don’t wanna age at all and eating meat will basically put you on the fast track soanother reason why i don’t eat meat. the third reason why i actually don’t eat meatis because it increases your inflammation. my brother was just talking to me on the phonethe other day and he has a lot of inflammation and aches and pains around his body. thingslike arthritis, all these kind of things, anything that ends in ‘its’ is inflammationin your body. meat and other animal products

actually increase the inflammation and plantfoods in general decrease your inflammation. one of the reasons why meat can increase yourinflammation is because of the arachidonic acid there’s actually a study link downbelow. also inflammatory bowel disease is higher when animal products are consumed andespecially things like arthritis’ they have links between arthritis and meat consumption.for those of you guys that think you’re safe because that only applies to the crappystore bought meats that are fed corn and soy, there’s even a study that i’ll link downbelow that yes even grass fed cows when you eat them they still cause inflammation inyour body. the fourth reason why i don’t eat meat is because all the toxins in themeat. whether the animals are eating things

that are toxic when they’re being grownwith cheap foods with gmo corn and soy they could be getting gmo contaminants within themthat then you’re gonna eat second hand or whether they’re gonna get fertilisers puton the corn and soy that have heavy metal contamination, those go on the soy and corn, the cows eat a ton of that stuff and basically they accumulate all these biological toxinswhether they’re heavy metals, antibiotics or other drugs. also they are contaminatedwith all different kinds of bacteria the meats whether that’s staph, whether that’s e.coliwhich can cause bloody diarrhea and all these other crazy things. pcbs in the fish, forthose of you guys that eat fish meat you guys aren’t safe either. we polluted the environmentand unfortunately when animals eat tonnes

of food to put on the weight so that you caneat them they’re concentrating all these toxins in the environment and they’re biologicallyaccumulating it so when you kill them and eat them you’re getting their life timesupply of biologic accumulation or toxins in you so one of the thing i used to try anddo in my diet was decrease my toxic load and by eating meats you’re increasing your toxicload something i definitely don’t wanna do. reason number five why i don’t eat meatis because it actually activates your immune system it’s like the boy who cried wolffairy tale. every time you eat an animal product you get raised levels of white blood cellswhich are collectively known as your immune system. this is one of the reasons why i turnedto a plant based raw food diet way back when

is because i heard any cooked food can causethis leucocytosis reaction in your body, since that time i’ve learned that that was wrong.even cooked vegan products, even the crappiest cooked vegan cookies will not cause leucocytosisbut there is many other reasons not to eat crappy cooked vegan processed cookies. eatingany time of animal products including animal products will cause leucocytosis so me havingan auto-immune type condition, after i got out of the hospital the doctor told me i hada ____ immune deficiency. i knew i needed to do something to basically lessen the loadon my immune system and one of the ways i did that was not eating animal products thatactually activates your immune system even though, is meet a virus that’s attackingyou or anything, no you’re just trying to

eat a meal man and now you’re immune systemis being activate. something in meat is not good for us. the example i could give, ifsomebody had to give a kidney transplant, i’ve got my brother’s kidney in me, imean i don’t have that but if i did have to get it which i probably wouldn’t, mybody would react because that’s a foreign kidney, it’s not part of me. every cellin my body has dna signatures or however they do that and it knows it’s me but if i gotmy brother’s, even though we’re pretty close in genes we’re not the same and mybody would say “hey this is a foreign invader i’m gonna attack it” so i would have totake amino-suppressive drugs the rest of my life so that i could have his kidney and myimmune system would not attack it. when you

eat animal products your body’s constantlyunder bombardment and attack, there are studies that show increased elevations of things likeasthma and eczema when you eat meat. in addition your body can have auto-immune type conditionsdue to the meat. auto-immune conditions are rampant these days whether that’s allergies, asthma, lupus and all these other new kind of diseases they’re coming up with all thetime, the body’s attacking itself and it shouldn’t be but it gets confused i thinkwhen there is so much animal consumption. whether the meat is raw or not, guess what?there’s still foreign proteins and they’re still gonna react in a negative way in yourbody. the sixth reason why i don’t eat meat is because it can make you fat. seriouslyi’m not joking with you guys. one of the

things that i strive not to do is become overweightbecause my dad when i was younger be overweight and he couldn’t look down and see his johnsonwhen he was going pee and stuff and i’m like i’m never gonna get that big man soit’s always been one of my goals to stay thin and trim and healthy and by eating meatit contains obeseogens and yes there’s study on all this stuff. it also lowers your body’sprotection from __ and also one of the main reasons other than being high in calories, way more than in fruits and vegetables, it lowers your metabolism. i like to have a nicefast paced metabolism so any food i eat i’ll burn it off instead of luring your metabolismso you just don’t burn off the food as quickly so you’re more likely to gain weight andthat’s one of the reasons i think why my

brother is the same height as me but fortypounds more than me and the doctor told him he was obese. the seventh reason why i don’teat meat is because it has no or very little if any anti-oxidants. i mentioned before meatcan increase your aging. one of the vehicles it does this is through oxidation so not onlyare you getting the iron in the meat that’s causing oxidated damage there’s other thingsand other chemicals produced in the meat or produced in the cooking that is pro-oxidantthe ages, ____ all these different crazy chemical compounds but they don’t have things thatnegate those effects. check it out, in all fruits and vegetables there’s plenty ofanti-oxidants. vitamin c, it’s an anti-oxidant. there’s plenty of anti-oxidants includinglicopenes and _________ in my greens, all

kinds of anti-oxidants and these are the foodsthat i want to be protected against not only anti-ageing but also diseased. anti-oxidantsare huge in disease and this is not even a topic that’s fully researched and we don’teven know all the different properties of what’s even in a tomato. there’s over300 different chemical compounds created naturally by the tomato plant so it can fend off theinvaders in the garden whether that’s bugs, pests, disease or whatever. the plant createsthese vital chemicals or plant chemicals for itself to protect itself and when we eat theplants we get imparted that protection from the plant and this does not happen when youeat meat. the eight reason why i don’t eat meat is because it is actually rich in protein, yes you heard that right. but john i thought

we need protein. well actually we do needprotein but there are better and worse sources of protein in my opinion. people say thatplants, you can’t get enough protein on plants if you’re plant based diet, veganwhatever but ask a person this, where does a cow get it’s protein to make all the protein?the cow’s not eating other cows, well it shouldn’t be although cows are being fedother cows sometimes which is definitely not good because that causes further disease.all the plant foods have protein in them, most people just simply do not eat enoughvaried amounts of plant foods to get enough protein. if you’re under eating you’reprobably not gonna get enough protein. you need a balanced diet rich of fruits and vegetables, greens, legumes, other things, you’re gonna

get enough protein if you’re eating enough.there are significant challenges with eating too much protein, i’ll put a few links downbelow. eating too much protein will lower your life span. i eat low on the food chainto increase my life span, i don’t want to have a short life span by eating meat. i wannastop here and all you guys have a choice, if you want to lower your life span by eatingmeat it’s a trade-off and i don’t care what you guys do, i’m not gonna lower mylife-span because i wanna eat meat i’d rather have a longer life span than eat meat butyou know, “i like my hamburgers” fine, go eat some hamburgers man, go enjoy it toobut i want you guys to be aware of the information of what you’re doing so you can make a choice.in this marketing age we’re being told you

could find one article that says meats areright focus on that, oh yeah it’s alright, but in my opinion based on all the numerousresearch out there meat eating and eating too much protein is not a good thing to do.the ninth reason why i don’t eat meat is because i like to be in a good mood. yes, aside from all these health benefits right. there’s documented studies that show, andi’ll put the links down below, that by limiting your consumption of meat or eliminating it,you will feel better. there’s opposite studies that show eating high vegetable, plant baseddiets, you’ll be feeling better and have a better mood. so many people are on all thosepharmaceutical drugs because they’re clinically depressed and in my opinion, pharmaceuticaldrugs are not the answer. it’s about eating

a proper diet so we can feel good naturallyand most plant based people that i know are in really good moods and it’s not an actwhen i’m happy making a video for you guys because i’m just happy in life. i’m notgonna say i’m perfect and there’s a day or two here or there where stuffs happeningin my life but overall i have a really good outlook on life. that’s because we forgetthat we are what we eat, your brain chemistry is made up of your chemistry and your chemistryis made by the different constituents in food whether that’s in rue or whether that’sin coloured greens or napper cabbage or lettuce or tomatoes or cactus fruits like i’m madeup of or corn. actually there’s a movie you guys should see, king corn if you haven’tseen it. most people in the us, their dna

is made up of corn because they’re eatingcorn and all these processed corn products but that’s another topic. increase moodby not eating your meat. the tenth reason why i don’t eat meat actually is not a healthreason at all but because i consider myself somewhat of an environmentalist. animal productsand meat, yes even free range grass fed and all this stuff, it’s not sustainable inthe long term. yes i go to plenty of farms that have meat and cows and all this stuffand yes i definitely believe that doing animal agriculture in a small area, in limited quartersand i think the answer is if everybody wants to eat meat they raise their own meat in theirback yard, have their own chickens, goats, sheep, whatever, rabbits, kill them themselvesand eat it. that’s way more sustainable

than how the system is being portrayed andeven large scale animal farming is not sustainable. i’ve put links down below, to make one poundof meat takes incredible amounts of water, i could probably fuel my whole garden withthe amount of water it takes to produce one cow in a year which is insane that’s onlyone cow. it’s much more intensive on natures’ resources whether that’s water whether that’sfeed, think about it, you’ve got to grow the greens and all the water that it tookto grown the greens then you feed those greens to the cow and it drinks the water and thenit poops out all the poop and pee water then you’ve gotta deal with the contaminantsand there’s multiple studies that show it’s not sustainable in the environment of today.i think that’s one of earth’s major problem

we keep cutting down more rainforest so wecan grow more corn and soy to feed cows so people could eat more animals. from and environmentalstand point it’s much more beneficial to give up meat than to drive your prius or drivean electric car. it’s not one or the other, you don’t have to drive an electric carand eat no meat, you can actually drive an electric car and not eat meat, did it comeout right you guys know what i’m saying. do the best that you guys can to conservenature’s resources and conserve the planet. we’re not heading in a good direction andi’m here to do my part to help change that by making videos like this to share my opinions.i tend to think that i’m fairly pragmatic, if i found truly overwhelming research thati need animal products to be healthy and i

have been eating meat free for the last 20years, i would do it. but i haven’t found anything to that extent, i’ve found thateating animals is not a good thing and whether you guys want to eliminate it completely whichwould be good or whether you guys just want to minimize and just have a handful a day.don’t get me know i’m not gonna be one of those people that say you’ve gotta becomevegan and all that crap do what you guys want, don’t care if you guys are vegan, plantbased, omnivorous what i do care about is you guys eat way more fruits of vegetablesthan you are eating. eat the majority of your diet fruit and vegetables and even if youjust had 10% or less of your calories in meat a day you could not have many of the negativeeffects of the meat as you’re pouring more

water onto the fire than you’re creatingbut unfortunately most americans are creating more fire than water and the fruits and vegetablesare the water and the meat is the fire don’t spontaneously combust. the last thing i’dlike to say about environmental impact is i really want to encourage you guys to watcha documentary made recently, it’s on netflix, i’ll post a link to the website down below, cowspiracy where it shows about the negative environmental aspects of eating animals. sothose are my top ten reasons why i don’t eat meat and i wanna go ahead and show twoquick more that aren’t scientific but if you think about it they just make sense andi’m kind of a think about it make sense kind of guy. as i mentioned before studiescan be funded by certain parties and things

can be swayed and you could design a studyto prove anything that you want. i look at results. number one i look at people who areeating a certain way. i have friends who have been long term plant based eaters, vegan, and they’re actually quite healthy if done appropriately. i’ve also met plenty of plantbased eaters that are maybe not so healthy but i can even learn from people doing itnot so healthily. i’m on this constant learning and evolving journey. i learn and evolve andshare these in my videos with you guys and not maybe people know i do this and not tomany people that i know have watched this because my videos don’t have a lot of viewslike the crazy raw foods or vegan recipe videos out there which is good for them but i reallywant to make a difference in your guys’

life and really explain to you how i thinkand why i think the way i do. another reason why i don’t eat meat is because if i dideat meat it would crowd out severely the amount of food i’d be eating and enjoying. meatis so high in calories and when you eat a little bit of meat it basically displacesa lot of vegetables. so if you just eliminate it you’ll be able to have more fun in lifeby eating more food, eating more fruits and vegetables that are more healthy for you.and as i mentioned before, fruits and vegetables contain these anti-oxidants so the more meatyou eat, the less vegetables you eat, the less anti-oxidants you’re gonna get, themore powerful effects from the meat you’re gonna get. the final thing i’d like to saywhy i don’t eat meat is because believe

it or not i’m a freaking cheap ass, i’mlike so frugal and meat, that shit’s expensive dude. i don’t know if you’ve priced itout lately but a pound of non-organic potatoes which in my opinion are still better thaneven organic meat, are like a dollar for ten pounds at the local store and meat, cheapmeat is a couple bucks a pound and you probably don’t want to eat it because it’s crappy.then they add all different kinds of things to make it look bright and pink even thoughit would have been grey and dull but it’s super cheaper to eat a plant based diet thanan animal centric meat based diet. in the end, i hope, and the goal of my videos isto share my opinions with you and i hope my family members watch this and make steps toeating less meat, less animal products in

their diet and eating more fruits and vegetablesand that’s just my message to you guys. even if you want to eat meat, i don’t care, eat your meat, be happy about it, raise your own, kill your own. if you’re buying atthe store you just don’t know what’s in there because you didn’t process it yourselfand that’s what i recommend too about fruits and vegetables as much as i grow my own fruitsand vegetables i still purchase some at the store and get organic almost all the timeexcept some of the things that are on the clean 15 list and other foods that i can’tget. but do the best you can, that’s the whole message of my video today, do the bestyou can and eliminate or minimize meat consumption if you don’t want to have the negative effectsof eating meat. the last thing i’d like

to mention is give you guys some resourcesfor you guys who are considering eating less meat. once again our lives aren’t aboutall or nothing i’ve never met someone who only eats meat and doesn’t eat fruits andvegetables it’s a balance, you could be 50/50, 75/25 i hope you guys get to 90% minimum,80%, 90% would be better minimum fruit and vegetable based diets and 10% animal productin your diet. as i mentioned earlier i believe by eating high plant based food diet and lowanimal foods you can minimize your negative effects. while i did cover meat in this video, other animal products such as dairy, cheeses, eggs and milk have many of the same consequencesas the meat do. don’t think i’m safe because i’m vegetarian you could still have manyof the challenges including with the igf one.

if you want to avoid the challenges with animalproducts you’ve got to stop or massively reduce your consumption of them. some resourcesi want to give you guys. number one is pcrm.org that’s physicians committee for responsiblemedicine it’s a great website, good resources on there so the guys could start eating moreplants. another of my favourite youtube channels is nutritionfacts.org. they also have a websitenutriotionfacts.org non-profit organisation run by dr mike o’greggor. i’ll post alink down to one of his hour long videos that i was in attendance to hear him speak personallywhich is really good information that will change your life if you sit through and watchit all. it’ll definitely motivate you to eat less meat and less animal products. ihope you guys enjoyed this episode, if you

did give me a thumbs up so i’ll do moreepisodes like this. i want to not only teach you not only what’s healthy to eat but what’snot healthy i’ll be having an episode coming up other toxins in my life that i’ve eliminatedbesides just the foods around the house. things that i’ve learned, one of the goals forthis video is the day that i do have kids with my girlfriend lauren, high lauren, iwant my kids to watch these videos to learn so much from their dad and be proud of theirdad as well. be sure to check my past episodes, i have over 400 videos on this channel talkingabout all aspects of eating a healthy fruit and vegetable based diet and also be sureto click that subscribe button down below to be notified by new and upcoming episodesand be sure to share this video with others

that you think it may help. so once againmy name is john kohler with okraw.com. we’ll see you next time and until them remember, keep eating your fresh fruits and vegetables, they’re always the best.

types of medical diets

hello. we're going to talk about the subject called, ketosis, what is it? ketosis is a state of fat-burning, so whenyou're in ketosis, you're making something called ketones. what are ketones?

types of medical diets, ketones are those things that, it's a typeof fuel for the body that's alternative fuel than actual sugar or glucose. ketones would be like riding a car using electricityversus diesel fuel, which is more sugar, so it's a cleaner fuel source.

it's an alternative fuel source that willgive a person way more energy than glucose. even professional athletes can far outrunand perform on ketosis than the carbo-loading. okay. now what's the premises of ketosis? the premise of ketosis is lowering your insulinor your sugars, which is refined carbohydrates way, way, way down there, to close to zero. like 5% of your daily calories. let me explain what insulin is though. insulin is the hormone that regulates sugar.

normally, in your blood you only store, inyour entire body, two little teaspoons of sugar. that's all you store. that's all you have in your blood, so ourbodies were not designed to consume the amount of sweet or sugar that we consume. i mean, the average person eats 145 poundsa year, so that's just insane. anything more than two teaspoons is goingto be very toxic to the body. so, on an average person, they're consumingso much carbohydrate. well, the body will just jack up insulin.

it's like a whiplash response, and then getit out of the blood fast and stick it into the liver, and start building up fat aroundthe liver. that's what it does, so all these people witha fatty liver, with high cholesterol, high blood fats, that is the sugar in their diet. it's not coming from the fat in the diet. our bodies make a lot of cholesterol, 2,000milligrams a day. it's not that. in fact, here's some interesting things. the good benefits of being in ketosis, whichby the way, is lowering your carbs, increasing

your dietary fats, and having a moderate amountof protein. is it will lower your bad cholesterol. it increases your good cholesterol. it lowers your triglycerides. it improves blood sugars. improves insulin resistance. now, there are studies that will tell youthat it worsens. if you eat fat, it'll worsen diabetes or insulinresistance and that has to do with the type of study that they did.

they did it on rats and they used corn oil. they didn't use healthy fats. corn oil is not only genetically modified, but it's not a healthy fat, so i'm not surprised that that made things worse. so, you really want to, when you see thesestudies that say that something is bad, actually read what they're using as their fats or theirfoods, and you'll find that even that they just study on vitamins, and they used syntheticvitamins versus natural. i was kind of our suspect, unless i read thestudy myself. improve memory, improve dementia, good bloodsugar levels, reducing acne.

reducing cancer risk, why? because, sugar feeds cancer. in fact, there's even certain types of scansthat they do to detect cancer and they look for areas of your body that you're consumingexcess sugar, because cancer is very hungry for sugar. so, why not just cut the sugar out and decreasethe risk? decreased polycystic ovarian syndrome. so, what is that? that's a condition where a female has a lotof these little follicles that are growing

on the ovaries, and it's pumping out too muchof the wrong hormone, the male hormone, and they're getting acne, loss of hair. a lot of issues, but that will reduce, ifyou're on this eating plan. it decreases inflammation. i mean, how many people have inflammation? so, sugar will promote inflammation. also, digestive bloating. this is very good for digestion. now, the healthy fats that you need to beon are basically grass-fed animal products.

like beef, or something like that. do not consume the lean beefs, or the turkeybacon, or the chicken without the skin. why? because, we need those healthy fats. do not eat eggs without the yolks. we need that fat to be able to get you inketosis. but, i know the concern. the concern is, "oh, my gosh. i don't want to clog my arteries."

we've been, literally, brainwashed to thinkthat it's bad for your arteries. all i'm going to tell you is try it for acouple weeks. go get your blood test, and you will see thatit will go down, and you'll be ... i mean, your bad cholesterol will go down, your heartwill be clean, and you'll have to prove it to yourself. i'm going to list the studies underneath thisvideo, but i want you, personally, to experience the benefits of this. because, long-term for health, this runningat your body on sugar, you're not going to last.

if you combine sugar with protein, you createeven worse problems with insulin and that's why when i have people that say, "well, i'meating mostly healthy, everything in moderation," but they have just enough sugar in there tocause, bump them out of ketosis, so all that saturated fat will plug up their arteries, because they have just enough to nullify the benefits. we have a lot of benefits. we don't want to combine carbohydrates ortoo much protein, but i created a link below that lists the eating plan that i would recommend, types of foods that you should be on to be able to get yourself into ketosis.

you'll be hearing a lot more of this in theupcoming news. by athletes, by researchers, because it istrue and it creates a lot of benefits. there's a couple little twists to it. for example, if you've been running your bodyon sugar for so long, it takes a little bit to trans adapt your body to this new fuelsource. in that transition, you might have to takeit gradual, because you're not used to it. some people, because sugar really holds somuch fluid, you might drop a lot of water weight initially, and you also might losea little too much sodium. so, you might need to consume more salt onthis diet to be able to keep the blood pressure

up, because it lowers blood pressure and thenyou'll feel better, but when you start dumping all this fat and all this water off your body, and you might feel a little lightheaded, you just might need a little bit more salt. so, i suggest you push through it. it's only a transition phase, but runningyour body on ketones is much healthier long-term. apply what i just told you and make some commentsunderneath this video.

types of hospital diets for patients

type 1 diabetes is a condition in which your pancreas does not produce insulin, a hormone your body needs to maintain proper blood sugar levels. after you eat foods that contain carbohydrates, chemicals in your small intestine break them down into single sugar molecules called glucose. next, the cells lining your small intestine

types of hospital diets for patients, absorb the glucose, which passes into the bloodstream. when the blood reaches your pancreas, beta cells inside the pancreas detect the rising glucose levels. the beta cells release insulin into your bloodstream

to reduce glucose levels and to keep your blood glucose in a healthy range. most cells of the body have certain receptors on their surface that bind to the circulating insulin. insulin acts like a key in a lock to open up the cell so that the circulating glucose can get inside the cell. now, your cell can use the glucose to produce the energy it needs to function properly. if you have type 1 diabetes, your pancreatic beta cells lose their ability to produce insulin, resulting in high blood glucose levels and other complications. in type 1 diabetes, your immune system, specifically your white blood cells, mistake your pancreatic beta cells for foreign invaders. in an autoimmune response, your white blood

cells secrete autoantibodies that destroy your own beta cells. as a result, your pancreas produces little or no insulin. without insulin, glucose cannot get into your cells, so they are starved for the calories they should be receiving from glucose. in addition, the glucose level builds up in your bloodstream, resulting in a conditioncalled hyperglycemia. common symptoms of hyperglycemia in type 1diabetes include: excessive hunger; excessive thirst;

frequent urination; unexplained weight loss; fatigue; weakness; irritability; and blurry vision. if hyperglycemia is not treated, you can become severely ill. because you don't have enough insulin circulating in your blood, your cells can't use glucose for energy. as a result, your body breaks down your fat

and protein stores as an alternative source of energy. as fat breakdown continues, certain byproducts, known as ketone bodies, accumulate in the blood, resulting in a condition called ketosis. when ketones build up to dangerously high levels, a life-threatening condition called diabetic ketoacidosis results. if your blood glucose remains high over time, long term health problems can occur, such as: atherosclerosis; blindness; nerve damage;

and kidney disease. if you have type 1 diabetes, your goal is to keep your blood glucose within a normal range. this is done through a combination of proper insulin replacement, monitoring your blood glucose, and, just as importantly, eating a healthy diet and getting regular exercise. because your pancreas no longer produces insulin, you will need to take insulin to replace what your body should be making. a licensed healthcare professional can train you to inject the insulin just under the skin. you will need to give yourself injections several times each day,

and rotate injection sites to avoid tissue damage and absorption problems. another way to get insulin is through an insulin pump, which is attached to your body and delivers insulin through a tube implanted just under your skin. you will need to check the level of glucose in your blood several times a day with a glucometer. to do this, you will prick your finger with a small needle called a lancet, and place a drop of blood in the glucometer. knowledge of your blood glucose level allows you to adjust your insulin dose, calories you eat during meals, and physical activity. you will need to eat a healthy diet and getregular exercise to manage your glucose level

and reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease.
